The room was a bit tight for 5 people with no storage for our suitcases and we had to file into the room to reach our beds.

The hotel was very nice and welcoming. We liked the access to hot drinks in the morning. The location was very practical. Great pressure in the shower.

If I am going to spend $400 on the hotel room, I should not be either freezing or sweating. The room had no thermostat.

Although useful to get around, the area itself at night didn't always feel safe, I would not have wanted to be exploring alone. The bathroom was a slightly odd wet room design so everything got wet, very quickly, even the toilet paper.

The location was great to get to lots of areas, either walking or subway. We used it as a base so weren't in the room much and it was perfect for that, as we had 5 people in one room. Beds were also comfy. The hotel has a nice vibe and staff were very nice.

It is an old building and it has no elevator, the staff helps getting the suitcases up and down the rooms but it would be better to have an elevator. During our stay two times the fire alarm was activated by mistake, one of the times in the middle of the night the other time early morning. Although we were staying in a family room everything is very small to move around with the suitcases (typical NYC).

How clean it was, how the staff was so kind and helpful. The beds were really comfortable.

Bathroom was dirty Sink did not have a plug, things could fall down. Makeup sponge and rubbish under one bed - not ours! Would have liked kettle and fridge in the room.

The staff were fantastic, especially Danette, super friendly and helpful.

The fact that there was no elevator but understandable as it is in an iconically preserved vintage area

We stayed for 7 nights five guys group. The room was crispy clean and neat. Would like it bigger and having more space for the luggage but the location the staff and the comfort to be close to the metro made our experience perfect.

Room very small if you intend to spend time there, we were out a lot so it was adequate for our stay. Bathroom also very small and needs updating (bigger room options available)

Very well located near Metro and Little Italy, coffee shops and restaurants.

The room was a dark and small for the price but this is quite common in NY. The fridge makes a lot of noise at night and we had a disturbing fire alarm at 3am one of the nights. We were unsure of what to do and then the staff said that it was a false alarm through the speaker phone. They weren't very clear and this was confusing and a bit scary.

Great location in Soho and close to the great restaurants in the lower East Side. Staff was helpful.

The rooms smelled of cigarette smoke, wafting through the vents in the bathroom. We kept the door to the bathroom closed to keep the smoke smell out, which worked, but it was kinda gross and stinky when the smoke was waffing - Cigarette smoke.

The bed were comfortable and the size was fair, especially for New York. Cute and fun aesthetic. Also the location and access to the Subway and SOHO was awesome. Would probably stay here again, if needing to be south of mid-down.

Per room a 250 deposit requires even though we paid the full room rate in advance. Walls are a bit thin, so expect some noise from other guests.

No elevator. Very hard to lift your bags up and down. A lovely man named Frank did help when we insisted. But the receptionist checking in wasn’t very helpful.

The rooms are dated even with its modern appearance. The room had minor wear and tear from previous guest. I think the rooms could use a more thorough cleaning. Also, the heating unit would make since squeaking noises.

The staff were all so kind, the location is great and felt very safe.

The bathrooms need a refresh and an update - it wouldn't be hard to make them nicer and use the space better. The keyless entry with app was very capricious and we ended up needing physical keycards

The Sohotel is a quirky boutique hotel. The minute you walk in you get a sense of the unique style through the eclectic decor. Staff are friendly and approachable. Complimentary coffee and tea in the morning is much appreciated. We were a party of 4 in a double queen room (room 219). Fairly small space with a tiny but serviceable bathroom for four people. We stayed 6 or so nights and were fairly comfortable - you have to manage the space a bit in a room like this but overall we enjoyed ourselves (we were out most of the time so being in the room was just for the end of each day). Some people have complained about the hissing heater - it does hiss, but that didn't bother us. We would definitely stay again if only for the fabulous location near Little Italy, Chinatown, Soho, Lower East Side - a quick walk to the two bridges (Brooklyn and Manhattan) and subway all around. You can't really go wrong
