15mins walk into the main street of San Ignacio. Fridge , AC and hot water in the shower. Acres of space for parking. Simple room but very clean and excellent for us - we stayed an extra night. There is an (expensive) supermarket on the corner opposite to buy things for breakfast - as long as you don't want alcohol of any sort! This place suited us down to the ground. No qualms whatsoever about staying here again should we return.

The host was super kind and went above and beyond to accommodate me and my mother after we had a terrible experience at Kane Villas, which was overpriced and vacant with no host or hostess. I recommend staying at Pine Ridge Lodge over anywhere else in this area. The facility is super clean, off the grid, and the staff makes you feel comfortable and at home. You can't go wrong staying at Pine Ridge Lodge if you are ever in the mountains of San Ignacio, Belize! The creek behind the rooms is a pleasant sound to fall asleep and wake up to! :) Two thumbs up!!!!

Great location at the top of the hill and right beside Cahal Pech. The restaurant food was amazing. The pool was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They filled up our water bottles when we left and provided us transport down the hill on a very hot day, which was very appreciated.

Location was fantastic. Very central, and not noisy.
Air conditioning was very good - cooled the room down quickly, and was quiet! Considering the highs of +43C, this was very much appreciated!
Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
Access to the butterfly reserve and pool at the Midas hotel (20 minute walk away) was much appreciated.

Max is a really good host. Max immediately helps when it's needed. The room is very comfy and the small fridge is a very welcoming addition given the high temperatures.

The hostel is very cute with the big tree in the lobby giving a sort of tree house vibe. We had private room, and it was spacious and with a/c! The location was great. There is a kitchen with everything you need. And Linda (a staff member) was such a nice person!

Good place to base with lots of activities close by.
Good place to base with lots of activities close by. We didn't spend much time in the town itself as we stayed slightly out of town center so cannot comment on restaurants and such. Good street food. Good grocery shopping to stock up.

We spent 2 full days there.
We spent 2 full days there. The first day we went to the local Mayan ruins of Cahal Peche and Xanantunich and the second we went cave tubing with Bellizean Caving Expeditions. Both were amazing experiences. If we had an extra day we would have loved to see the Mayan city of Carocal which is further away from town.

If you're looking for quiet and remote, then this is your place. There isn't much to do here. Thank God for the Casinos. They gave me something other than staring at the hotel walls to do.
Visiting the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, was great. But you definitely want to take the taxi from the ferry to the top of the hill, if you're not in good shape.
Just a little way up the road is a restaurant named Sweet & Sour. The food was very good. I just wasn't feeling the cow foot soup. Lol.
Although lots of advertisement says public transportation is available. However, unless you want to spend a small fortune, you absolutely need a car and a working cell phone for the GPS.
The people in Belize were very helpful and friendly. It was great that most of them spoke English. This was a huge plus.
The poverty here was heart breaking. I'm glad that I had an opportunity to visit. But I doubt that I will be going back any time soon.

The only thing that was horrific about this place was the hair braiding woman whose small shop is directly left from The Spot restaurant which is on the opposite side of the Venus hotel. The woman is violent. She gave us a big spill about how awful my daughters hair extensions were and that she would take it out and do it again. She said she would do it for 50USD. We accepted as she seemed like a nice lady but how wrong we were. She took the extensions out but then said she couldn’t remove the beads in my daughters hair and would need to leave them in. My daughter was horrified so I then had to bite every single one of them out myself. She then cut a three inch chunk of my daughters hair which is right on the crown. We told her we didn’t want her doing it and she bullied us to carry on. She then side platted my daughters natural hair and made a huge plaitted bump and then sowed the hair into the plait leaving a huge surplus of the hair extensions hanging. My daughter was so distraught and started crying and begged her to stop. She then took a 12 inch kitchen knife from her handbag and pepper spray on her key ring and said we must giver her the money. It was such a scary experience. Please please avoid this woman at all costs. We then complained to authorities whom explained she was mentally unstable. They wanted us to file a police report to have her arrested but we just wanted to leave the area.

Easy to navigate on foot.
Easy to navigate on foot.
The market is a must see for especially the food that is available throughout the day.
Just like any other place, be careful at night time when walking downtown. We did feel very safe.
Have bug repellents ready at night.
From the moment you pull, the owners make you feel like welcome guests. Amazing combination of comfort, privacy and scenic views. Having a full kitchen was a huge bonus for us (and the kitchen has all the equipment you need for cooking a meal). Virginia and Ken (the owners) are super hosts.
If we are ever back in San Ignacio area, we will not even look for a different accommodation, unless Villa Cayo is all booked out.
Highly recommend with one caveat - you need to be travelling with a car to fully enjoy your stay at Villa Cayo.
Self catering accommodation. Large family room. Use of kitchen. Water and coffee was provided free.
The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, even collected us from local airstrip for a few $ and also offered to do the laundry for a small fee!
Easy walking distance into main town of San Ignacio where there was plenty of restaurants, bars, cafés, huge market on Saturday, smaller during the week. Tour operators collected us from the hotel. Highly recommend.
It was a magical place, absolutely gorgeous and so green. Every breakfast was homemade and delicious. Best of all is the owner, Dominic. Dominic takes great pride in his ranch and provides an excellent experience. It was fascinating to talk to him and learn more about Belize. We had very active and in depth conversations with him. We travelled as a family of 5 with our daughters and son-in-law, ages 26 through 30. They had a wonderful time as well.
Fantastic find, such a good deal for what you get for the price. perfect location, close to everything. Staff are super friendly & accommodating. cheap beers, and a rooftop overlooking the city for sunset. Beds were comfortable & clean, the rooms have a private bathroom. A stay includes breakfast of coffee/tea/toast & bananas in the mornings. definitely recommend. Mini fridge in the room as well.
The property was locally owned and tucked away in a quite neighborhood. We were surrounded by lucuous greenery and lovey wildlife. The room was spacious and clean with an open floor plan. The host was a wealth of local knowledge of Belize and hooked us up with a guy who gave us some of the best tours of ATM & Tikal. Highly recommend staying here if you have a car.
Perfect location, nice spacious garden and a great atmosphere that fits in San Ignacio perfectly. But, most important, the owners are a wonderful couple, helpful and truly concerned about the satisfaction of their customers. When going to Belize, don't just stay at the coast or the Cayes, make sure you visit San Ignacio, Cayo and stay at Mana Kai!
Lovely owners, amazing price, great free breakfast, comfortable bed, hot shower, wonderful air-conditioning, huge room, a fridge, amazing location, free cold water, very cheap beers available. This place had it all. We then stayed in a $130 per night Hotel which was a gift from my brother and I can honestly say I had a better time here!
We loved staying here. Best thing is the quite jungle location. The kitchen is so well equipped! We could easily have stayed here for many more days! Swimming pool was nice. Hearing the birds and insects at night was great.
Generally good value, but could always be cheaper. Staff were great, very helpful.
The staff knows what you need even before you need it! Absolutely fantastic. This was one of our best experiences with truly professional and attentive staff.
Property is gorgeous and does not feel crowded evenn at full capacity. The perfect place if you are looking for a quiet hideaway in the jungle.
Chena was hands down the nicest person and best host. Honestly this is my first review for anything ever so that alone should tell you something... Book it, you wont regret it. Perfect location, very relaxing, no frills stay, Chena bends over backwards to ensure you stay is amazing! Thanks!!
Great place to stay with friendly hosts. Villa Cayo is only a few 3.5K from San Ignacio which is great for restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Located on a hill above the tree line gives you the jungle feel with great sunsets. A well maintained touch of paradise.
Pool was great, staff were attentive and helpful, view from the hilltop overlooking jungle was lovely. It’s a short drive into San ignacio so you ideally need a car. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food. Drinks were good and reasonably priced.
Cleanly, comfortable dorms. AC in rooms on at night (just hope you don’t get the bed directly next to the unit) and fans on each bed. Hot water, clean bathrooms. Very good breakfast. Tours offered are the cheapest you’ll find in town.
Staff was amazing! They helped us book ATM tour, which was fantastic, and cheaper than bookinh separately
Rooms were clean, cozy and welcoming!
Common kitchen and lounging area was lovely!
5 mins away from Cahal Pech!
lunch by waterfalls, sounds with screen open window plan, Sam the farm to table gardener, mosquito coils and netting, stunning design, comp coffee/tea service
