We had very late check-in and the staff kindly waited for us. The receptionist was very welcoming.
The property was tidy and renovated. We had room on 3rd floor, which was well kept, clean and it offered all necessary essentials/toiletries. It was possible to pepare the tea in the room.
The breakfast offered wide range of options, the food was tasty and meal was freshly made.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, spacious car park on the premises (however, can be very busy with no parking spaces left, but there is a free car park just before the hotel near Embassy of Belarus/Hesburger, it's only a minute walk to it), rooms were clean, plenty of towels available.
The breakfast seemed to be ok, plenty of choice between cold and hot food... unfortunately had a coffee for my breakfast only, as we were leaving early each day and it was too early for any food. It's a nice and clean hotel for reasonable price.

Daugavpils is not a huge city, but for 1 or 2 days it surely has its charme. The city centre's architecture is quite picturesque, and don't miss out on the churches and the synagogue. (It is worth sending an e-mail and asking for a visit, even though the guide's English is a bit rusty. Nevertheless a very positive experience.) Also, you must visit the old fortress (take tram no. 3).

I wish we had more time in Daugavpils!
I wish we had more time in Daugavpils! The city center is wonderfully renovated and reminds me of Liepaja, Riga and St Petersburg all at the same time. The whole city is an eclectic mix of tsarist barracks and typical Soviet houses. The center is walkable and has several great restaurants and cafes to enjoy, as well as green parks to cool off in the summer heat. Try to visit the fortress if you can, and enjoy Daugava's twists and turns around Daugavpils.

There is not much to do in winter time in Daugavpils.
There is not much to do in winter time in Daugavpils. However, many people visiting their parents and friends during Christmas and New Eve and usually silent city becomes more lively. Lazy walks, simple excursions, occasional lunches and coffee breaks, cinemas which run movies in Russian. Daugavpils holds an impressive heritage of architecture presented by building from IX-X. Fortress is just amazing! Rothko art museum is very interesting. For ghost cities fans, recommend to visit former Chemical fibers manufacture.

Unexpected and not much recommended in tour guides.
Unexpected and not much recommended in tour guides. However Daugavpils is worth visiting! Make sure to visit the fort, it's immense and it's something else. Quite some history. Try to check out the history of Daugavpils as well, it's interesting with huge Russian influences. Nowadays it's refererred to as Little Russia (so we heard) and it certainly has the vibe. You have to like it, it's a little rough around the edges.
Unfortunately we only had a short day there and only went to the Fort. That being said, that alone is already worth the effort.

I like the city.
I like the city. I think, I will go for weekend a second time.
I rekommend you to make a walk in Daugavpils castle (latvian- Cietoksnis)! Walk to Dubrovin's park and Dubrovin monument.
Look for a nice architecture of end ot 19.th century and begining of 20th century in the city center.
Take a tram and go to Stropi lake public beach and promenade. (Now, at the end of 2019 year, there are some very nice historic trams, abot 40 years old. It operates on the 3th line from Castle to Stropi lake. Like a museum tram in city traffic.)
Very clean, very modern. Amazing location, only 2/3 minutes from the main hotel and the city centre. Next to a lovely park. shops are very close by. there is an amazing restaurant called Gubernator(number 1 restaurant in Daugavpils according to trip advisor) the restaurant is literally 10-20metres from the front door. is soo convenient. the host was very friendly and accommodating. I will try to stay at this place again when I’m coming back in October. This place is perfect for one or two people.
I had a wonderful stay at Biplan Hotel! The staff were incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home. My room was not only clean and comfortable but also uniquely designed, adding a special touch to my experience. The hotel offers great internal parking and the breakfast was delightful, with a wide variety of options. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy and friendly place to stay in Daugavpils!
Everything is great and like it should be, except the bad for the ones who doesn't like soft beds.
Kitchen is really great. I stayed in hotel few times before years ago. And the restaurant keeps the standard I guess already almost 20 years. Looks like the owner really cares it.
Reception girls are perfect and very welcome, the same as administrator. y
Thank you for those great days in Daugavpils.
- Modern, clean, and excellent condition room
- Coffee and tea, and a bottle of water in room
- Hotel is right next to the train station, and on the edge of the city center, in walking distance to many restaurants and shops
- Spa access is included in the room price from 9 to 11 AM. They have a nice swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room and a changing and shower area.
The hotel is located in the centre of the city, so anything you might want to see is basically at a walking distance. It's a ten-floor building, so if you are staying on a higher floor (I was on the 7th), the view is very nice. Also the breakfast lounge is on the top floor, so you will not miss out on the view even if you are staying on the lower floors:)
Excellent hotel, best in Daugavpils! If you are looking where to stay, choose this one :) very polite, smiling and helpful staff, cleanliness everywhere, nice breakfast, free parking, shops and all amenities around. Good experience, will definitely come back!
- Cheap hotel

- Homey hotel/breakfast
- Unusual chickens as pets on hotel area, funny chickens.
Sometimes thinking that this hotel should increase its prices a bit.
Cozy, warm room, nice personal breakfast. Very clean, considering that the hotel doesn't seem to be renovated lately. All in all a good option in a great location. Parking is a bit tight.
Amazing location, good breakfast. Hotel is situated in the heart of Daugavpils. Everything is reachable on foot. Pederstrian street with restaurants and shops are close by.
Great location. The staff was very welcoming and had great communication skills.
The room was clean and warm.
