Two full days is plenty of time to explore Berat.
Two full days is plenty of time to explore Berat. The castle is worth a visit maybe a taxi up and walk down as its very steep. The two bridges are nice to walk over and the view at night is wonderful. A nice reasonable restaurant is Friendly House the restaurant is upstairs and looks out over the river.

Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list. It will be great to hire a tour guide for the explanation and exploration around the old castle area.
Based on the local suggestion, every year, there is an event called epiphany on Jan 6. It will be super good if you can witness this wonderful event.

Was very underwhelmed by Berat.
Was very underwhelmed by Berat. One big building site and litter everywhere. View is alright but nothing special. Not much to do. Very quiet in March but traffic already tough so wouldn’t want to be there in summer.
Only playground in the village was extremely dirty and many things were broken.

Hotel was very clean, close to the city center and parking space was available however I would recommend to mentioned the owner in advance in case you will need parking space. Breakfast was included in the price and it was nice. We arrived during the night and disn’t have any difficultiues to check in, most importantly owner was such a nice person. He was not speaking English but yet we were able to comminucate with him. He was a great host with great attitude. I would choose the same hotel if I would go to Berat again.
We felt like we were stepping back in time, but with all the modern amenities. The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff/owners are very friendly and professional. We liked it so much we decided to stay an extra day. Located within the Castle Berat walls, this hotel has amazing views of Berat - especially at night. Very comfortable bed and spacious, spa-like shower. We ate in the restaurant below and it was very good and the staff super nice. It was the best stay we had during our 2-week trip through the area!
The hotel is located at the very center of the town and at the very beginning of the old town , from the place you can walk practically at any interesting historical, cultural and other places of interest in Berat. The owners made sure that we had a free parking lot so no need to move with the car after you reach the hotel. Very frendly familly owned hotel. very clean and a nice breakfast that if you are lucky of the weather could be enjoyed at the hotel's terrace with a nice view of the old town.
In short - everything was great 😀! The hosts are incredibly nice and welcoming! They offered us cold juice when we arrived and prepared delicious homemade breakfasts on the balcony. We really felt like we were welcome there. The room and the bathroom are spacious and everything is extra clean. It's very close to the main promenade, maybe 5 minutes walk to centre of Berat full of restaurants and bars. We hope to come back next time we visit Albania and Berat, most beautyful town we have ever seen!
The property was recently renovated and opened, so everything is new and works well. The house has four rooms for guests, which gives is a cozy and personal feel. When we visited we were the only guests so we got the whole place to ourselves. The property owner was one of the most welcoming men we had met and went out of his way to make sure we have everything we need and beyond! Really impressed by Amalia Boutique Hotel and will recommend to anyone visiting Berat!
The staff was super friendly and they provided all the necessary info on where to go and what to do - speaking excellent English by the way. They took care of everything that needed booking. The room it was stupendous. Excellent matress and large, comfy and nicely decorated room. If we ever get back to Berat we would stay at the same hotel. It looks exactly like the pictures or even better. And on top of all that hotel is located exactly near Gorica bridge
Hotel is in one of Berat's "historic" homes. From outside, it has that stunning historic look. Inside, hotel is completely renovated. Rooms have new floor, paint, ceiling, windows... new and clean. You get the complete immersive experience. The breakfast is amazing. We stayed at a few other more luxurious and expensive hotels in Albania for the rest of our trip, but the breakfast in Ansel beats all of them. The eggs were just perfect!
Extremely friendly hosts, who just recently opened this beautiful hotel in the centre of Berat. The owners and staff did absolutely everything possible to make us feel comfortable, we even received an upgrade to a larger room. The typical albanian breakfast was really good and very filling. The entire hotel was very clean and the rooms spacious. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back sometime again
Absolutely wonderful stay at Berat. This family runned hotel is situated inside the Berat castle walls which was very nice. The owner is absolutely hilarious and very helpful. The hotel is decorated traditionally which is nice. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were amazing, one of the best meals we had on this vacation. I would definitely stay here if you are seeking an authentic Albanian experience.
This was the most amazing stay! The hotel owners were the kindest people — they made us feel welcome right away, gave us recommendations for our stay, took us on a tour around Berat, and even drove us to and from the bus station. They were so friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend this stay for anyone coming to Berat. The hotel is perfectly central too, and the views are excellent!
Perfect accommodation for your stay in Berat. Everything is very new and clean, there is freshly made breakfast every morning, and the hotel is right in the centre of the old town. To make the stay even better, the host is very friendly and helpful. He even has his own tea, wine and Raki (the traditional Albanian drink) which we could drink during our stay.
Berat is a medieval jewel in Albania. Mira (spelling?) our host and owner runs a beautiful little guesthouse with 7 rooms that are spotless clean, comfortable with individual AC units and bathrooms. The breakfast on her terrace is sumptuous and she’s always ready to help as she did with arranging private transportation to Saranda 3 hours away.
Great family run hotel in Berat. Very comfortable room and bed. Wonderful generous breakfast which included delicious home made cheeses. Everyone was extremely nice and helped me with my transport to Saranda. A great local restaurant is also very close to the hotel. I would recommend and definitely stay again.
The hotel is well located next to the river. It is very atmospheric, the building itself is old but nicely restored. Antonelli and his family were very friendly and helpful in providing information about the town. The breakfast was also really good. Berat itself is beautiful and well worth a visit.
Everything! Excellent location. Attentive service. Beautiful building. Probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We had a very chat with the staff there, genuinely nice people there. Will recommend it to everyone who visits Berat.
Everything - the family running the hotel was incredibly sweet, the breakfast was perfect (and vegan upon request) and the homemade wine and sweets were delicious! If I ever come back to Berati I will definitely stay there again.
Lovely hotel, rooms are modern and very clean. The hotel is very central, perfect for visiting the old town and Castle of Berat. The breakfast at the hotel was brilliant, easily the best breakfast we had when visiting Albania.
Recommended by VATO travel in Berat Albania. Great service and great rooms. Everything was clean and made you felt at home. Would come here again to stay.
