Oscars is my go to place when I visit Ballarat. The staff are fantastic .....courteous, helpful, friendly and always ready for a laugh. The food is excellent therefore, if anyone is up for a catch-up, we meet at Oscars. The rooms are comfortable and always clean and fresh. I consider Oscars to be value for money and my home away from home.

It was amazing - such an impression when you come inside. The restoration has been completed beautifully and has honoured the history and added touches of modern. The bedding was amazing - first time I have slept for 10 hrs in years. I have already sent pic and encouraged as many as possible to "do themselves a favour" and stay there. I even tried the lift on day 2 and it was no problem. What an experience - I look forward to coming back.

Ballarat is terrific.
Ballarat is terrific. Full of history, culture and shopping. Lake Wendouree and the Botanic gardens are always a delight. Lunch at Craigs Hotel Atrium was very special and a good price. The Gallery always has something new to see as the exhibits change often. Eureka Stockade museum is a really good exhibition and tells the story of the Rebellion. The King Bakery on Sturt street has THE BEST vanilla slices and meat pies. Yellow Espresso next door does a great coffee too. Op shops are well situated. Messer & Opie is a really nice Men's & Women's clothing shop in the Bridge street Mall. Although Ballarat is more hilly than you'd think walking around the area is still easy.

I would have liked to have walked in the downtown area but I didn't know how to pay for parking.
The main purpose of being in Ballarat was to visit Sovereign Hill which we could have spent so much more time at. This was better than we had expected.
Friendly staff, great performances and there was a feeling of going back to different times in history.

Ballarat is a historical gem, it reeks of history everywhere you go and is easy to get around. The restaurants, cafes, pubs and people we met were all great. We have been several times now and we will go back as the region has plenty to offer . If you go in winter, rug up.

Sovereign Hill was excellent, well worth it.
Sovereign Hill was excellent, well worth it. More information for travellers who come on the train would be useful, about public transport Food good in Nolan’s, but quiet, excellent meal in Meigas

Beds, linen and other amenities were clean and as expected. The size of the room was too small for a family of 4. The rooms located far from the front office and there was no facility to take heavy luggage as there were steps, you have to lift the it up to be able to take it inside the hotel. The surface was no smooth to roll the wheels of the luggage boxes. It was mentioned at the front office that due to the type of the design the floor are all rough, however, there should be a smooth path to move the luggage boxes around easily.
Perfectly situated right in the middle of Ballarat.
Two well set up rooms, both with nice en-suite.
Upstairs kitchen/living room was well appointed and lovely furniture. Was too hot to go outside on upper balcony and we had to keep the blinds down during the day. But it was really hot (for Ballarat!)
Garage couldn’t take my work van but would fit normal compact or SUV fine.
Pretty much faultless, and great value for money for two work colleagues when compared to a hotel.
Lovely home. The breakfast was great - kids loved the cereal packs. Was nice to have some basics in the house immediately so there was no rush to get to the shops for brekky. Home was very clean - with lots of extras (like wipes, sanitizer) so felt there was a real effort in making the home as covid-safe as possible. Lovely rooms and comfy beds. Comfy lounge. Very happy with our stay.
Lovely and thoughtfully updated heritage hotel in the centre of Ballarat, so close to the food/drink laneways, art gallery, shops. I arrived at the railway station and it was a very quick walk to the George. Elegantly presented and comfortable. Very helpful staff who willingly found me peppermint teabags late at night.
The house had absolutely everything we needed for our family. It was exceptionally clean, modern and comfortable. The house was located a short drive away from all of Ballarat’s highlights. Would certainly stay here again and highly recommend to others. Thank you to the host for the excellent communication.
The room is so big, feel relaxed and comfortable, nice and quiet. Strongly recommended. The staff, man and woman are very nice and friendly. If I go Ballarat again I’ll book that place again. The best experience ever of staying in hotel. Feel better than hotel i stayed in middle of Sydney
Beautifully restored historic hotel in the heart of Ballarat. Nice bar, decent restaurant, trad. comfort rooms. Parking on site - although we had to ask for directions at reception. We ate in the restaurant, decent food, relaxing surroundings. Really enjoyed our stay. Recommended.
It's a proper old-fashioned hotel that's been very nicely renovated to provide all the modern conveniences. Loved the location and the vibe. There's a lift, but I always used the stairs because the staircase is just so cool!
Everything inside & outside - super. This time we only stay for 2 nights, next time we'll stay for longer for sure. Heidi and her family were fantastic and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Thanks so much.
Absolutely amazing boutique hotel. Martin greeted us on arrival and gave us a guided tour of this 5 star hotel. We were blown away but the luxury, service and all the little details that were considered.
Great location, nearby to the station, and nearby to a fabulous small hotel for meals, a drink, and watch the Matildas beat France. Sad that the Matildas lost to England in the semi final last night.
Location was the only thing going for this Hotel,,, I stay at this Hotel over four years ago and it was excellent,,,not sure what has happened in between time but it's NOT the same Hotel as before.
The day of the booking reception called and asked if we wanted a free upgrade to the guest house. I was with my family so it was perfect. Gave an AirBnB vibe. Lovely town house for no extra cost.
The apartment was clean + although on the train line side was quiet. Staff were polite + helpful. Would stay again. Ballarat is freezing in winter but quest hotels are warm + beds comfortable.
Spacious apartment with close access to local pubs, restaurants and cafes.
Have previous stayed at these apartments. Not the cheapest accommodation in Ballarat but worth paying extra.
Easy walk to Sovereign Hill but also very central to other popular attractions. Room was nice and warm when we arrived. Lots of space for our family of 4.
