The outside spa area is this hotels jewel in the Crown, with great views of the castle and mountains in the distance. we experienced it on a Sunny Day so were able to lounge in the Sun and pop in and out of jacuzzi and swimming pool. In poor weather this is going to be a very different experience.

We stayed in Füssen for one night. We spent the next day visiting the castle. There were a lot of tourists, and the tickets for the castle were booked out. We came to show the kids, but probably wouldn’t have gone to the top if it was just my husband and I. Lots of overpriced gift shops, and very much geared for tourism…

Beautiful hiking trails. You can walk to town and Neuschwanstein if you are in good shape. Much better than trying to find parking. Beautiful views. I would recommend going late in the evening as there is not that many tourists.

It's in a fantastic location and is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lot to see, not least the castles built by King Ludwig. There are also many lovely walks to take and it's ideal for cycling, as there are lots of cycle tracks. There are lots of superb hotels to chose from, all in good locations and plenty of good restaurants and cafes. The mountains around are beautiful, and one of them has a Tegelbahn (cable car) at the top of which is a very good restaurant and a place for people to hang glide down to the valley below. There are also lots of walks up there with amazing views. Schwangau is close to the town of Fussen, which is well worth a visit and is at the border with Austria. There is also a lake, Forggensee, where there are regular boat trips.

Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking. Gorgeous scenery. We enjoyed a walk to the lake in the evening at the sunset. Getting around Schwangau is easy both by car and by public transport.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Able to walk to some restaurants. I recommend easy hikes/walks around the Forggensee lake in Schwangau and around the Alpsee lake next to Hohenschwangau, both with well marked trails.

The host was very easy to get in touch via text message, the place is very well located nearby Neuschwanstein castle and we had an amazing view from the balcony over the castle at sunset. It was very convenient to be able to prepare our own meals. The bedroom was very confortable (we had two but only used one) and everything was very clean.
