Overall the stay was very comfortable; the bed was good, the facilities were good and the service (especially for the breakfast) was great! The extensive and luxurious breakfast got rolled in on a cart. The reception was also very hospitable; we got vlaai and something warm to drink.

I was there the days before Christmas.
I was there the days before Christmas. The village was charmingly decorated with lights. Perfect bus connections to Maastricht and Heerlen. Beautiful surroudings (with hills) for hikes, and a lovely evening stroll through the center. I also went to the nearby Triangle border where Holland meets Germany and Belgium: within a few seconds you are in a different country haha. And very special: you are at the highest point of the Netherlands! I definitely want to come back soon and rent a bike and cruise through the beautiful nature. And I want to visit the museum. Oh, and the market on Tuesday morning. And not to forget: taste the typical 'Limburgse vlaai'. Yummy!

Vaals is a nice clean town with plenty of places to eat.
Vaals is a nice clean town with plenty of places to eat. Some of the more recent development there has spoilt it a little but there is some great walking from there and it is very popular with cycling enthusiasts. The frequent bus services to nearby Aachen and beautiful Maastricht make it a place where you can leave the car behind.

The welcome was excellent, the rooms were very comfortable and big and a very fair price. We were surprised that the restaurant was greek, the menu being excellent and a welcome ouzo didn't go amiss! The restaurant and hotel staff were all personable. The continental breakfast was very good to send us on our way. It is idyllic in Spring time, with flowers blossom in the garden and birds chirping. Our luxury king room offered two great beds in different rooms with elegant furnishings. The spa tub in bathroom looks nice although we didn’t use it.
