We spent here only 1 night, restaurant was great, we didnt have time for pool, but surely its refreshing. We were leaving early in the morning and staff made us a breakfast to go, thank you very much :)

Friendly and very thoughtful owners! They even let us use their garden goods such as salads, avocados, herbs, helped to start a fire for a gril.

Our hostess Sandra and her mother were very welcoming, and we very much appreciated the homemade biscuits and madeira wine and fruit when we arrived and the traditional cake to take home with us. The house itself was beautifully decorated, the bedrooms in particular with their very comfortable beds, and we loved all the extra cushions, cozy blankets for the sofa and the generous supply of towels in the bathroom.
Situated in the UNESCO biosphere reserve of Madeira, Casas de Campo do Pomar B&B - Self Check-in is surrounded by an extensive tropical garden.

Yes I would definitely return. It is classic Adobe type architecture, not modern glass and steel.. thank god! Excellent value and the breakfasts 10/10. It is in a very hilly section of Santana so those with mobility issues would have trouble with the stairs and walks to restaurants close by. We are 66 years old and managed quite fine. Free Parking on the street was good.
Featuring garden views, Paraíso Resiliente offers accommodation with a garden, barbecue facilities and a shared lounge, around 5.4 km from Santana's traditional houses.

The hotel is very pleasant.
The hotel is very pleasant. It is good to be together with nature and with beautiful views over the sea and mountains. However, check-in took a long time, we waited 1 hour and a half for them to prepare the room, and when we got to the room, there were no pool towels, we had to ask at reception. Another situation that I didn't like was the booking of the wine tasting and visit to wine house. We were refused the wine tasting because we had already checked out at 12:00h. So we asked if we could do it before check out and they said yes, but we got there and nobody showed up.

Don't stay in Santana longer than 4 days and make sure you have a rental car to get to all the levadas easily. The restaurants/cafes in Santana are not that good/nice. The only tourist attraction in Santana are the famous Santana houses and the nearby hiking area Queimadas.

We made the mistake of not hiring a car before we got to the hotel. We figured we would see what Santana was like and then hire a car locally, this was a big mistake! Once we got to our hotel, it was clear that we would need a car to get around as nothing is close or easy to get to. We're super active people but local hikes are 30 mins just to get to. We were told it would be £630 to hire a car for 5 days. Our advice would be to hire a car ahead of your trip.
Santana is beautiful and has such a variety of things to do and see. Other advice would be to not judge a book by its cover when it comes to restaurants, we ate the best stake in a tiny little restaurant that looked pretty grim from outside.
You probably wont want to spend all your time in Santana but its a great base.

It is a lovely, peaceful and relaxing place.
I wanted time to chill, and Santana did that.
Lovely scenery.
Eat at the Serra e Mar
Don't bother with the tourists traditional houses, there are plenty of genuine ones in the town, some very rustic

We love Santana in the winter.
We love Santana in the winter. The tourists are all in Funchal, so you have the place for yourself.
Santana is ideally placed for the best hikes in Madeira: Pico Ruivo (at least 3 different hikes start here, all top-class), Queimadas with its amazing hikes and others. Also a short drive to the airport.
There are some great restaurants in Santana and the adjoining villages and all the services you may need.
The host is incredibly kind and ready to help anytime.
The location is perfect for Pico ruivo and Levada de Caldeirao verde. Santana is pretty, in the middle of nature and fresh air. We had a shopping mall and a gas station really close.
The air conditioners in the 2 bedrooms help to cool down the apartment because the temperature outside is hot and a bit humid.
The key box made our arrival easier, we were independent with the time we arrived and left the apartment.
What an incredible value! The apartment is roomy and with views over the mountains. We stayed in apartment A which was the bottom apartment and it still had amazing views. The apartment was absolutely spotless and plenty of linens were provided as well as a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. It is within walking distance to the town, as most things are in Santana, and the host was quick to respond and flexible with check out--much appreciated!
Our stay at Santana in Nature was a delightful experience. The beautiful surroundings were truly breathtaking, and the ample parking space added to the convenience. The traditional food and drink offerings were excellent.
The presence of a pool and hot tub was a nice touch, although we didn’t get a chance to try them due to our busy schedule. The service was generally pleasant, with the waitress being particularly friendly and accommodating.
The room was very clean and it had a big balcony.
We also used the swimming pool (whirlpool was closed due to Covid) and tried the food in the restaurant. Nothing to complain about, everything was good.
The breakfast was yummy and diverse (Especially the darker bread was my favorite.)
So you can grab some energy before exploring the beautiful nature around Santana. The location is perfect for that, as the hotel is directly in the center.
Great place to stay in North/East Madeira especially if you have a rented car - free parking, in the midle of roads to several tracks, trips, markets & view points. Even the Hotel terace and rooms have nice view. Two typical old Santana houses are part of the Hotel complex. Free swimming pool & whirpool on the terace with beautiful sunset view, playroom with pool table, restaurant in the second building. Breakfast was good.
We were here for 3 nights, we arranged check-in and check-out ourselves to our full satisfaction, upon arrival you just fill out the form and send a photo of it. The apartment is fully equipped, including a washing machine, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and kitchen utensils. The location is ideal for trips to Santana and nearby levadas. Parking is directly in front of the house. Wifi without problems :) Thank you
Very comfortable and spacious accommodation in the village part of Santana. Big living room with fire, large terrace, fully equipped kitchen, two full-sized bedrooms. Two kilometers to Santana center. Very good base for Ruivo ridge and south-east part of Madeira trips (Porto da Cruz, Machico, Canical, Ribeiro Frio are within 30 minutes by car).
Rui is a fantastic host. Santana was the perfect place for us to stay for a week in Madeira. Lots of places to eat nearby. All very reasonable. Close to hikes. Swam every day at Praia do Faial. Don't miss the pastries at Bia, literally 2 min drive away from here. And once more Rui is wonderful, recommendations for everything you could ask for.
we really liked the Casas de Campo. The staff were great. The breakfast was quite good and included items baked by the owner. The bed was comfy and the living area good. Santana afternoons and evenings can be cooler when the clouds come in but the heating took the edge off quickly. The kitchen was simple but adequate for meal preparation.
The hotel offers many facilities like 2 pools, 1 small sauna, a good and diverse breakfast (I loved the chocolate roulade from Uau Cacao, waffles, and fresh fruits), a nice bar with very attentive staff, and great rooms. The room was very comfortable, I liked the walk-in shower.
Great apartments quite near the centre of Santana and it is a strategic location for trips around East and Centre of Madeira.
The studio had everything we needed (full kitchen, bathroom equipment and so on).
Host family is friendly and kind, thank you so much! :)
We were upgraded to a Junior Suite with 2 balconies overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Superb rain shower, hotel robes, turn down in the evening, programs available, and one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had....some buffet and some made-to-order.
Hotel is situated near historical center (with typical Santana's houses). Check-in was easy and with no problems. Owners are very friendly. Comfortable and clean rooms. We like a breakfast here as well as common room, where we can wait to our delayed car.
Everything about the suite was fantastic. Wish every hotel was this well thought out and functional. Great view, great shower, great kitchenette, great cat. Thank you for having the heat on, nights were still chilly, and not everyplace in Madeira did!
Casa do Manuel was clean, spacious, and had a comfortable bed. Fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Private terrace which was perfect for eating breakfast in the sun. Walking distance from "downtown" Santana. Friendly and helpful hosts.
The breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed very much the immediate proximity of the centre of Santana as well and above, the nice welcome of the hosts. A very nice place to stay if you prefer to stay away from the big hotels and touristic places.
Beautiful grounds (even in February) with some trees and plant flowering and lots of greenery. Beautiful building with lots of character. Rooms were clean and we'll made up. Neat that they have a traditional Santana house on the property.
It is a nice, clean and well-kept house at a walking distance from Santana. The owner was extremely friendly and responsive. At our arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of Madeira wine and traditional cookies.
