The views to the ocean from the main pool, the big balcony of the room overlooking the small pool and the garden, and the help of their travel agency to help me find a spot in a group doing the Blue Safari. The lobby is beautiful.

Interesting town, much to see, like the TAAF Snake Farm, where I was for a course, the Gede ruins and much more. Good infrastructure, which is not in all coastal towns in Kenya the case. The beach in front of Papa Remo is alone worth going there!

Watamu is beautiful , but unfortunately too touristical for me. Heavily overpriced for Kenya. People who like bust tourist spots will like it though... traditionally many Italians, if you want to avoid those, Watamu is also not your choice

Watamu has lovely people, tourists are so safe its unreal.
Watamu has lovely people, tourists are so safe its unreal. Large Italian population and visitors, so most hotels and resteuraunts are italian owned. Best place to eat and the most jawdropping view is from Ocean Sports.

Watamu as such is lovely with a few good public beaches.
Watamu as such is lovely with a few good public beaches. Restaurants are galore and most really good, although mostly expensive. Among the coastal towns I visited in Kenya and Tanzania, I have come back to Watamu most often. The water is crystal clear, the beach white and not overrun, and the area offers enough activities to not get boring.

Local administration and hoteliers should strive to attract...
Local administration and hoteliers should strive to attract more local tourists. Overdependence on foreigners leads to exaggerated prices in addition to leaving Watamu as a ghost town especially in low season.
The resort has an excellent position, very close to one the most beautiful beaches in Kenya. All the infrastructures (rooms, swimming pools and areas of common use) are kept very clean. All the staff is always kind and efficient, starting from the front desk and continuing with cleaning staff, waiters and beach attendants. Special thanks to Miss Denise, Deputy Director, for her continue dedication, her kind support to all clients and her great suggestions for several excursions that made this holiday truly unforgettable.
We loved staying at Mangrove View, by far the friendliest and most welcoming place since we've been in Kenya for over 8 weeks. The breakfast is delicious and the chef can also provide dinner for a very reasonable price, which is super delicious and highly reccomended. The owner Reimond is very friendly and has lots of local tips and can help you organize tours, transport and more. The communcal area is very social and it's easy to meet fellow travellers here :) Highly reccomend this place to anyone staying in Watamu!
I loved how private the property was, it felt really secluded and intimate. The staff were really attentive and friendly, and made incredible food and drink! Food and drinks were 10/10!! I loved the room (Beach Banda), it had a beautiful view from the balcony, the bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious, and the shower pressure and temperature was fantastic. Also, the free boat ride over to Watamu town was a great bonus!
The location was super: wery close to ocean, a little bit far from Watamu so it was quiet and private. The beautiful Garoda beach was 2km walking distance.
There were kind and friendly community. They help me with everything I needed. It was supernice to have tasty meals together with them.
You can see a Milkyway in the sky and monkeys in the morning playing on the roof. This is haven for naturelovers.
The place was awesome. I was working while I was there and it was very cozy, comfortable and the staff was so accommodating.
Internet was very good, was working back in the states and had no issues.
The shower was also the best shower I’ve had in Kenya. Water pressure was perfect.
Netflix on the tv was also a huge plus. Couldn’t recommend more for anyone trying to relax and enjoy Watamu.
I was fortunate to get a room with a sea view. While the rooms generally do face the sea, some are partially blocked by the palm trees. I enjoyed the beach. The hotel has arguably the best beach in Watamu. The biggest plus is access to the Islands between 6.30am to around noon during the low tide. All in all, its a great place. Oh, the hottest joint in town is next door, Papa remo.
The location is for me the best in the world!
The staff were all brilliant, new rooms well done, fitting in to the surroundings.
Been visiting for 50 years and great to see that although adapting to changing times the atmosphere of the place has not changed....no nonsense about dress codes etc. Just good traditional Kenyan hospitality
The staff was very friendly and willing to assist. The beach was also just steps away from the property as well as the pool and beach towels were provided. There were also some specials guests- the owners dogs! The breakfasts were also very good with fresh baked goods, fresh eggs, and freshly squeezed juice as well as eggs your way.
Sal&lala Castle very nice place to stay next time I come to watuma I will stay here again for longer next time room was very nice and the place is not far frm beach staff at the hotel were very nice also and it is a very clean place to stay and we'll worth the price
This accommodation is truly fantastic and welcoming. the private beach is very beautiful and equipped with umbrellas with sunbeds where you can observe the islands of Watamu, the pool is very large and clean. The chef service is really great and tasty.
Breakfast could have been improved upon. Omelettes were made fresh, but otherwise options were limited in the buffet. Slices of cheese and deli meat.
Pool was stunning with view of the ocean. Beach was beautiful. Great relaxing area of Watamu.
The host and the staff were warm and welcoming they waited for us to check in very late in the night. The rooms are clean and very spacious. We made some charcoal grilled fish at home which was exciting. We have good lunch at Prawn's Lake Watamu.
This is fantastic place. Very cozy and clean. location is perfect. But to tell the truth Ocean Sport is so amazing place that you don’t want to go somewhere else.
and of course cuisine. Food and restaurant the best on all Kenya coast
Location is amazing.
Gizellea, the manager was there to help on any time, she made our stay perfect.
Staff was super nice as well:)
In the hotel, there is an amazing restourant. Best food we had in Kenya.
Will be back for sure:)
The location was superb, just a minute's walk from the beach. The room exuded coziness and boasted beautiful furniture. The bathroom was decently appointed with an appealing setup. Additionally, breakfast was delicious.
Hands down one of the best hotels to stay in Watamu. It is near to the beach. All facilities are available. I would definitely like to stay there again. The restaurant is also great.
This is my second time at the hotel and I am happy that this time food/drinks were excellent all throughout, very attentive staff and good water sports.
