The outstanding feature of this hotel is the helpfulness of the staff. Although there is no traditional reception, I met far more staff than usual at a hotel. Steph and Layla helped me settle in and the cleaning ladies stocked up the rapidly depleted biscuits. I also had a chat with the manageress. So the staff were really welcoming, and reflected the friendly behaviour of Preston people. This hotel is perfect if you need to be in Preston centre near the railway.

The location was ideal for what I wanted as I needed to attend some performances held on the Market Square in Preston City Centre.
I like the self check-in side of things, as it allowed independence.
It was also very near to the train station and the lovely little park in front of the building was ideal to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

I was visiting family so that was good, It has tried to be a cafe society and there are some nice small cafe's and artisan bars but the people are depressing, seem happy to walk round eating burgers and drinking cans of beer. like all towns lots of empty properties, charity shops etc.
Will be good when the Harris museum opens again next year.

I only visit when I have to, visiting family.
I only visit when I have to, visiting family. I have made several trips over four years. First impression was of a grubby town, streets and public spaces covered in litter. Sprawling industrial parks on the outskirts. Ubiquitous pavement parking makes it dangerous pulling out of residential side streets. I have found little of cultural interest to do in the city, apart from the museum, which has been closed for refurbishment. No decent venues for live music or theatre that I am aware of. Easy enough to get a basic and pleasant meal from the usual restaurant chains. I haven't made much attempt to research into more interesting venues for eating out, apart from RK dining which is great for vegetarian/Asian takeaways. I think there is a good range of different cuisines if you look for it. I guess the University is Preston's saving grace from being a purely industrial town. It is reasonably easy to navigate the city centre on foot or by car, and regular buses. It does have a good number of well maintained and accessible public parks, and a good walking route via the Guild wheel. Brockholes is a good place for nature, although close to a motorway. A range of pleasant areas of Lancashire countryside are a short drive outside city.

Preston is a lovely town.
Preston is a lovely town. I visit because I have close family there, but I wouldn't say it is a hub for tourists. There are fantastic attractions, like Hoghton Tower, and the downtown area is very quaint. When with family, we usually go to a great fairly local pub or other restaurant for lunch/dinner, and there are plenty of those with great food and ambiance. I love going for walks in the local area.

Loved the layout. Bed, armchair, table and chair, kitchenette with fridge, microwave. toaster, kettle, dishes, pots, cutlery, dishes, 2 ringed hob. Bathroom with good sized shower. Loved the decor. Bed the same as my own at home. Local shop just down the street. Short walk to town. Near train station. The Tickled Trout hotel is in a good location, just a minute off of the M6 at junction 31.
The room was comfortable with all you need for a good and comfortable night.
Dinner was tasty after a day’s travelling it was just what was needed.
Breakfast which is self service was what you would expect, a full English with a nice cup of tea in my case, and this set me up for the day and for more travelling.
The room was amazing , very modern and clean .We stayed in the " reflection suite " which was so comfy and the bathroom just brilliant . The staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem . They made a fuss over our baby girl which was nice . Even put a birthday balloon in our room for my wife . Location amazing , 2 mins from the train station and in Preston city center . We cant wait to go again .
The hotel is clean and modern with very friendly staff. The room itself was on the small side, but not too small and there was a nice view of the surrounding fields. The food at dinner time was very good. Reasonably priced and of a high standard. Breakfast was also good, though could have had a little more variety. Would have no qualms staying here again.
Pamela was lovely, met me at the room showed me round gave me the keys. Everything was spotless, bed was very comfy, black out blinds so nice and dark. Slept very well. Bathroom facilities very good, decent shower. Idea location, right in the city centre but peacefull at night. Would definitely recommend and will use next time I stay in Preston!
The host was the most lovely and kind person. Left our little boy a doggie dental treat when we arrived into the apartment. 🥺 The bedroom was so lovely - actually the whole place was minimalist and beautiful. Clean with almost everything we could ask for. We went to Preston for a very special reason and I'm so glad that I chose here.
Best location for town centre. Immediately next to train station and a large shopping centre. On bus routes to town bus station and West/Sth west of Preston.

The location was excellent. We needed to be near the train station which is less than 15mins away. Car parking is available and free. Well done! The room and facilities are exactly what is advertised. Having eaten in the hotel the food is delicious and although not a wide ranging menu there is something for all tastes.
We visited Preston for a football match.
The hotel turned out to be exactly as advertised.
The hotel was warm, very clean and comfortable, particularly the beds.
We loved the breakfast. The ladies serving the breakfast were lovely and friendly.
I would have no hesitation in staying at the Claremont Hotel next time.
Breakfast was excellent, bed was comfortable the place was busy, so that's always a good sign...
Fantastic service all round.

Direct transport links (buses) and taxi was about £5 from taxi rank across road from train station...
Parking convenient. room overlooking lots of greenery around the car park. nice secluded gardens, easy access on ground floor for me to take my dogs in and out. Very convenient for visiting my family and friends in West of Preston. Plenty of space to walk the dogs in the hotel grounds / car park.
I needed somewhere close to Preston and this fitted that requirement. I was pleasantly surprised how good the hotel was. Notably quiet for a city hotel, with a clean, reasonably well appointed (it’s not luxurious) and spacious enough room and a civilised bathroom.
Lovely clean comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast had the full English was spot on. Staff are brilliant, can't do enough for you.
Location was excellent with just a short walk to the city centre.
Lovely little hotel will stay again when next in Preston.
The hotel was in a quiet location with ready access onto the the motorway and into Preston. Cooked breakfasts were very tasty and lunches & dinners were good and reasonably priced. The staff were very personable and my room was clean and pleasant.
My room was allocated in a very pleasant area of the hotel.
All meals were of a very high standard well presented and delicious.
The staff are absolutely professional with a typical Lancashire friendly twist which is such a delight.
