Very comfortable, and large shared facilities. The host was very friendly, and we had a long chat with some of the guests i the beautiful dining area. It had windows on all sides including the ceiling, so it was really enjoyable.

The cabin was perfect. Beautiful views and super cozy. It was also equipped well for our short stay, I wish we stayed a couple of nights instead of just the one.

Peaceful small town with rich and fascinating history, namely it's fishing industry and near annihilation by a volcano. I recommend hiking over and to the top of the volcano and visiting the volcano museum.

The ferry to get to the island was immaculately clean and ran on time both ways. While a smaller boat for such open seas, the sailing was still good and not too rough! The island itself was picturesque and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Such a beautiful island! The landscape is absolutely unreal.
Such a beautiful island! The landscape is absolutely unreal. Hiking the volcano and then visiting the museum is a must. We saw puffins on the outlook just past the golf course! (ie didn't need to take the bus tour to the southern tip of the island to see them). Vigtin bakery is delicious, as well as Tanginn for dinner. Check out Brothers Brewery for a good drink! Super easy to get around on foot, and the ferry was perfect! A must see in Iceland!

Vestmanneayar is a beautiful, self-contained fishing village...
Vestmanneayar is a beautiful, self-contained fishing village that also caters nicely to tourists. It is located on the island of Heimaey. Getting there is challenging but well worth it. The best way is to rent a car in Reykjavik and drive 2 hours to Landeyjahofn on the south coast. Leave the car there (I found no need for a car on the island) and take the ferry out to the island. Two or three days is sufficient to see everything on Heimaey. Bike rental, e-scooter and hiking are the best ways to get around. I was able to bike the length of the island with several stops in about 2 hours. It's hilly- what do you expect it's a volcano. Great opportunities to view wild life and spend time outside. The views cannot be beat. Food is excellent but (like the rest of Iceland) a bit expensive. The public pool/ hot tubs are a great way to end a physically taxing day.

What a beautiful island!
What a beautiful island! We took the tour with EyjaTours and it was so informative. The island holds so much rich history, and the scenery is gorgeous. We were able to see the puffins, as well as learn about volcanoes.

As soon as we arrived by ferry, we went hiking, then dinner at Gott, then puffin watching. Unfortunately we were not in the right place to see the true puffin colony (keep going up that road!) but we enjoyed what we did get to see.
One of the best hotels. It was my third stay here and I will choose it again every time. Excellent location on the wonderful island of Heimaey, my room had a view over Eldfell and Helgafell, the two volcanoes on the island. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room was spatious, clean, comfortable and it had everything I needed. There is a restaurant, a sauna, luggage storage options and the staff is always there to help you. Great value for money and a pleasant place to stay while exploring beautiful Vestmannaeyjar.
This hotel was a fantastic choice for my recent trip. The location was unbeatable - super close to everything I needed, especially restaurants. There was even a takeaway place right across the street, which was perfect for a quick bite. Despite being central, the hotel itself was surprisingly quiet. Plus, everything was spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom, which was a real highlight.
Very comfort beds, very nice interior and the location of the guesthouse. It is small town but you will find a lot of places to visit just in 2-10 min ride - puffins, restaurants, easy short hikes just for the relaxation at the end of the day etc. The ferry in 3 min drive. The location is really good. And some tea also was good thing. :)
Good location, pretty clean (was expecting much worse from the reviews), nice restaurant next door. Even though the staff was pretty much invisible, check in and check out were pretty easy - they answered the phone number written at the reception and gave clear instructions :)
The house looks scary from the outside and we felt it looked like a haunted house. Inside is a little better. The inside is in the making. Bring a face mask, the curtains are too transparent (normally Icelandic hotels provide opaque curtains given the long summer nights).
Excellent choice for affordable accommodation in the heart of Heimaey, right next to the ferry and a host of amenities, with easy access to the hills and coast. Extremely clean, very handy kitchen and useful Netflix access for rainy days too.
Simply outstanding hotel! We got a deluxe double which was roomy and more than comfortable. Loved the decor and toiletries. Robes and slippers provided for spa. Restaurant was great as well. Don’t hesitate to stay at this little gem!
What a cool place to stay when visiting Westman Island. It was such a unique stay and conveniently located to the ferry and to walking the city. The individual pods were clean, comfortable, and very quiet. Very cool place!
Guesthouse Arny was a pleasure with Gaui serving as a great host. We loved the many little details around the place that made it comfortable, and there was much to see and explore in the Westman Islands. We'll be back.
The accommodation was inexpensive and enabled me to stay in Vestmannaeyjar at short notice. It was well situated in a central location. It was a new and very different experience to stay in a capsule hotel.
Great location close to the harbour, supermarkets and restaurants. Easy parking facilities. All the amenities you need in the kitchen. Spacious house. Very clean and covid friendly. Easy check-in.
Nice location, very close to the ferry. The bed was nice and it was also very nice to be able to open the windows, which isn’t the case in many hotels.
