Spokane is a vibrant city with a rich history. Beautiful turn of the century architecture, built when railroads were the king!
Lots of great restaurant options, fun shops, microbreweries. Definitely take a walk on the Centennial Trail along the river, and see the falls. The Sky tram across the falls is fun!

Spokane has good and bad.
Spokane has good and bad.
Food scene and walking the downtown are is good.
Parking is expensive and sucks. Cleanliness and safety downtown especially at night is a concern. The old lyrics, "The freaks come out at night." are appropriate.
Even Spokane is experiencing similar degredation as Portland, Seattle etc.
Why do these cities allow themselves to become so unsafe and dirty? all pretty much run by the libtards.

I only spent my time in Downtown which has nice restaurants and everything is within walking distance.
The best part is the beautiful natural park called "Riverfront Park" where the Spokane river is traversing; there are playgrounds for children, benches for relaxation, jogging trails, a pond with geese and ducks, a small Japanese garden and an open auditorium for performances. The garden with huge trees is magnificent. This park with the natural river in the middle of downtown is uniquely Spokane.

Spokane is a nice city.
Spokane is a nice city. There are a lot of restaurants downtown within walking distance or a short Uber ride. The river area is beautiful and a must-see. As with other cities, the unhoused population is growing, and can be somewhat aggressive, so travel in groups and be aware of your surroundings.

Spokane has some lovely areas to visit, especially Manito Park. There are some beautiful old homes in the Rockwood area. It is not, however, the place to look for boutique shopping. I definitely would recommend dining at one of the restaurants located adjacent to the Spokane Falls, for the view as well as the fine dining. You do not want to pass up the carousel. It is remarkable, with an interesting history.

Spokane has a lot going for it with the nearby mountains.
Spokane has a lot going for it with the nearby mountains. However, the trash and the homeless that seemed to be everywhere were a turnoff. We attended the "Pigout in the Park" event and there seemed to be way too much food. I guess that is what a pigout is meant to be. The music was good except you could hear the other bands performing at the same time, and it created a mixed sound rather than listening to only one band. Perhaps the park is too small for more bands to be able to play without competing sounds. There seemed to be too many commercial vendors that mass produce the same things at the event as well. I would prefer more original artwork myself, but I understand commercial vendors need to make money too. We drove around to quite a few places, and I didn't see any areas that didn't have a fair amount of trash. We stayed at a nice hotel with beautiful views of the mountains, but the streets getting to the hotel had rundown homes and homeless in plain view. We did eat at a cute bar, but it was a bit dark inside, and the potato salad had potatoes that didn't serm fully cooked in it. The sandwich, on the other hand, was delicious, and my friends drank beer and really liked their selection of draft beers. In summary, unforunately, Spokane is not a city I would care to ever visit again.
We’d heard Madison Inn was the place to stay, especially when in Spokane for medical appts. The hotel is right next to Sacred Heart, fun restaurants, close enough to downtown but far enough away to be quiet & very safe! The staff is exceptional in every way, personable, professional & helpful. The gentleman scraped snow from our car windows for us this morning! The rooms are clean, spacious & quiet & breakfast is great. We’ve stayed 4 times now & each time, we’re impressed!
I have recently been hotel-ing/ AirBnB-ing it across the country the last couple of weeks and this was the coolest concept I have seen yet. If I am ever in Spokane again this will be my first choice, additionally if this company has other properties I look forward to looking for those first before I look for other hotels.
This hotel is a short walk from many great sights. Spokane Falls. Riverside Park. Markets. Awesome children's playgrounds galore. The restaurant onsite also supplies fantastic meals with a relaxing outdoor deck so you can watch the sunset over a few beers while the kids play in the hotel pool. Our whole family loved it.
The property was close to Rte 90 which suited us well as we were travelling on the following day. The room was large, clean and well supplied with toiletries etc. bThe beds were large and very comfortable. The staff were extra helpful and friendly. Every area we visited in the hotel was clean.
Staff were very friendly at check-in! The room was a good size and was comfortable, and after 8pm the hotel was quite quiet even being so close to the airfield. Breakfast was tasty, and the dining area nice and bright. Free cookies and water are available at check-in.
The hotel is cute and in a clearly historic part of Spokane, offering it a unique and cool vibe. We enjoyed how close we were to dinner spots, Sweet Peaks ice cream, and Brew Bros. Coffee in the morning! The Steam Plant Inn was perfect for our short stay in Spokane.
The location was excellent. Right by downtown, we walked every evening to the events in downtown Spokane. The restaurant is very upscale casual, very old world cozy vibe. Loved it. The staff was friendly and personable and made us feel at home.
Room was beautiful and very clean. I loved the decor in the room and how comfortable it was. We upgraded to a balcony room since our room was not ready yet, loved the balcony. I will be staying at this hotel every time I come to Spokane
Loved the location. The room was cleaned each day. Not every hotel does that anymore so it's nice to know this place still does. Considering a trip back to Spokane next summer and will definitely consider staying here again.
Nice central location in the middle of Spokane with walking distance to everything in the CBD. Great recommendations by the receptionist for eats and drinks nearby. Easy carparking on site right outside the room.
Staying at Hotel Ruby is always a pleasant experience, and this stay was no exception. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. The room is clean and uncluttered. The downtown location is superb.
