WINSCOMBE IS A FAIRLY SMALL VILLAGE BUT HAS SEVERAL PLACES TO EAT OR GET TAKE AWAYS. THERE'S A DECENT SIZED CO-OP TO GET SUPPLIES. WE CHOSE THE PROPERTY AS WE WERE GOING TO VISIT THATCHERS CIDER FARM 2 MILES AWAY. THATCHERS GAVE A LOVELY GUIDED TOUR, I RECOMMEND IT. LOTS TO SEE AND DO IN THE SURROUNDING AREA. WE VISITED TYNTESFIELD HOUSE A NATIONAL TRUST PROPERTY NEARBY AND CANNINGTON WALLED GARDEN WHICH WAS BEAUTIFUL. LOVELY WALKS AT YOUR DOORSTEP AND PLENTY MORE THINGS TO DO. WE ATE 2 NIGHTS AT THE WOODBOROUGH INN AND ONCE AT THE WINDMILL AT THATCHERS CIDER FARM AND ENJOYED THEN ALL.

Warm and welcoming cheerful staff excellent range of food...
Warm and welcoming cheerful staff excellent range of food and drink large comfortable luxurious rooms with shower and bath why not stay here rather than a cheap airport hotel very close to Bristol Airport but without the noise
This place was a great find! We used it following a late flight arrival. Its so much nicer than the hotel airports and only 10 mins drive. The breakfast was fantastic with a great range of options for all the family and the rooms we're beautiful. Beds very comfy and a great shower too. I can't fault the place in any way. It was great value for money and felt more like an extension of our holiday rather than stop over.
Wonderful country pub/hotel. Good food and really nice rooms. Well appointed and a welcome beer / prosecco was a nice touch. Staff were a little slow but they were very busy. A small down side is they stop serving food at 6pm on Sundays. But if you can live with that it fine. Very dog friendly and several nice walks (although dogs are better on a trail lead as there are mountain bikers and horse riders).
We booked this property as were doing the thatchers cider tour. It was a 30minute walk from the cider tour, but there is a bus that runs every hour!
Plenty of bedrooms and beds, lovely home. Nice kitchen and living area. Was nice and clean in the bathrooms with clean towels etc. Lovely little cul de sacc close to shops and pubs in Winscombe.
Good menu for evening meal. Excellent full English breakfast cooked to order in a comfortable room served by a very pleasant member of staff. Room was spacious and comfortable with everything that we needed. Hotel situated on the main road with easy access to get to Cheddar where we needed to be the next morning.
The location was very good, central to Winscombe village where my daughter lives. Compact, but everything you need for a short stay. Warm welcome by host.comfortable bed. Excellent views.
Very good correspondence with host, both before and during stay.
