As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc

Nice little village but very touristy when cruise liners are in. Limited choice of restaurants. Lots of tourist goods shops, boat trips available along with kayaking etc. A nice place to chill for a couple of days.

The cabin was well equipped with microwave, oven and kettle. The place is clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The space was just nice, compact but not too small. There was also laundry in the bathroom and dryer close by. This was a real plus as I was travelling around Norway for over 25 days.
The location was 5 mins from town and the road to and from town was very easy. Great location with beach view

So many natural beauty places to see around here, and hikes to do. I would recommend hiring a boat for fjord exploration at your own pace. Taking a short drive to the Dalsnibba viewpoint is a must, as well as to any of the other close-by viewpoints. Walk the steps next to the powerful display of water flowing into the fjord. Take a canoe/kayak and see the many waterfalls from up close.
Amazing location next to a beautiful lake. The place feels like it’s part of a fairy tale. The room was spacious with a lake view and we loved it. Maybe the hotel is a little old but it doesn’t matter. The staff is very nice and polite. We brought our own food for dinner and the receptionist suggested us to use the dining area. Yes, there is no wifi and no cell phone signal but who cares! This is an opportunity to enjoy the great natural surroundings with peaceful and quiet time.
Amazing view of Geiranger fjord. We hired a motorboat at reception for 2 hours which was perfect to tour the fjord. The staff on site were amazing. This was the best customer service we had in Norway. September was a great month to visit. It rained one day which made the waterfalls more impressive. The next morning, we woke up to blue sky and snow on the top of the mountains. The cabin was absolutely spotless and the bathroom beautiful, equipped with a rain shower.
This room had the best view of any place we stayed in Norway! It has a balcony directly overlooking the Geiranger Fjord. It is hard to leave the balcony to explore the area. The town is very small but fun to explore. A must do is the walk up the waterfall that is next to the caravan park, beautiful. Wonderful breakfast included. This is the only big hotel in this small town and it is pricy, but the view and breakfast are worth the money.
The owner is extremely friendly and cares for making your stay truly exceptional.
We excepted a great apartment but got more than surprised by it. The view is amazing, it is equipped with everything you need. It feels cozy like a traditional norwegian cabin, but has modern parts where needed.
If you stay for some days in Geiranger, you have to book this place!
The room is large and clean, the accommodation is more than satisfactory. Breakfast and dinner really good. The value for money is in the expected range taking into also into account that this is one of more touristic area of Norway. Free access pool is nice for a fast relax, assuming that you avoid the peak hours (hotel is big and full of people...)!
Great location overlooking one of Norway's favorite fjords with hot tubs, great breakfast, and beautiful relaxing spaces in the hotel. The staff was quite friendly including our bartender, the manager who drove us to town for our dinner, the desk staff and servers. We enjoyed this place immensely.
Great location on the Geiranger Fjord, but a few km from the village (close enough and far enough!)
The cabin is convenient and functional, with a little porch which you can sit on and soak in the view of the fjord. Can rent a motorboat or a kayak right from the campground office.
The view from our room of the fjord was spectacular! I really enjoyed the little deck on our floor to sit and enjoy the magnificent scenery. The restaurant offered a wonderful menu and the food was so so good!
The staff was warm and very helpful. I would stay here again.
the view from our cabin was breathtaking. a beautiful setting and a very spacious cabin. by far the best accommodation throughout our trip in Norway. would recommend for anybody and everybody looking for something unique and special!
Communication with property owner was great prior to stay and at time of check in. The view was incredible. Cabin was very cute and we loved having our own space. We did laundry on-site which was very convenient.
The view is amazing! Situated right on the water with a view of Geiranger. The rooms are finished really well and clean. Bedding can be organized and there are shared bathrooms. I can recommend this spot
Th cabin was spacious and comfortable. The view was spectacular. The location was great. We could walk to several places from the cabin. The property offered fresh baked bread for sale in the morning.
the view of Geirangerfjord was spectacular and I received an upgrade to a fjord view - perhaps because the hotel wasn’t that busy in October but still very much appreciated.
The location and the view was very nice. Restaurant was very good and the stuff was very charming. There were some goats around and my kid really enjoyed.
