The breakfast was delicious! Dining area is cozy and there was a good variety of options for the size of the space. It’s a great location it’s not beach or water view but close to it. It’s very walkable to like my favorite coffee shop Captain + Stoker and all kinds of other restaurants and shops in downtown Monterey. They also have bikes that you can pay to rent outside the lobby doors and you can get bike locks and helmets at the front desk.

Known for beautifully undulating coastline attracting a wealth of wildlife, laid-back Monterey is on a small peninsula. Though now more famous for Monterey Jack cheese, it was once an important sardine fishing town. Some former canning factories now house galleries and shops on a street renamed Cannery Row after a novel by John Steinbeck. A museum and his former home in nearby Salinas can be visited.
The fantastic Monterey Bay Aquarium houses a fascinating range of local sealife, which is so prevalent here that you can often see seals basking on craggy beaches, or sea lions roaring away under piers in Fisherman’s Wharf. Whalewatching tours also depart from here.
South is the Monterey State Historic Park, site of historic buildings including Custom House and the Old Whaling Station with a path made from whalebone. To the east are a couple of Monterey hotels on the beach on Booking.com, and there are also several Monterey hotels with indoor pools.
Right by Monterey Peninsula Airport is one of the city’s 7 golf courses, and there are 3 golf courses near the Laguna Seca Raceway.
Whether you’re here for the Monterey Jazz Festival, or for driving the Big Sur Pacific coast road to the south, if you’re staying with kids, don’t forget to check out the Dennis the Menace Park.

Monterey was lovely, a great place to walk around and lots to see and do. We wish we had stayed longer. And it would also have been good to go to Carmel if we had stayed longer.
The Dust Bowl brewery down near the harbour was great. (It's in between a main road and a car park so doesn't look brilliant from the outside but worth a visit!).
The Fieldwork brewery on Munras Ave is also worth checking out, but only on a sunny day as it's outside seating only!
The aquarium is supposed to be one of the best in the world but we were fairly underwhelmed.

The centre of the town is rather tacky & expensive but the National Park at Point Lobos is lovely, as is the coastal drive (or cycle) to Carmel. The Aquarium was somewhat disappointing and very overpriced inside. The small Art museum is worth a short visit. The dedicated, car free trail for pedestrians and cyclists is a nice idea.

Monterey is a great place to spend a few days.
Monterey is a great place to spend a few days. There is a lot to see and once you learn the one ways streets it is easy to get around. The wharf is fine, Cannery row is a tourist spot but it is fun and the aquarium is great. Food is very good in Monterey and Carmel.

Cannery Row is a bit of a tourist trap, but if you head away from the beach you quickly access the restaurants of Lighthouse Avenue, including Hula - Hawaian food. If I had my time again, I would have tried to stay nearer to the Acquariam, even as far west as Pacific Grove (technically the next town along), near the delights of Happy Girl Kitchen.

I love the ocean.
I love the ocean. There are just so many great little beaches to visit. Monterey has so much Sea life too. We saw harbor seals, otters, elephant seals, too late for the Monarch Butterflys, tons of birds, just from the walking paths! We actually walked from Monterey to Pacific Grove. There are also loads of shops, and restaurants.
Although the property is in Old Monterey, a busy area, the hotel is quiet. The rooms seem to be secluded from the hustle and bustles of cars, people.
The atmosphere is peaceful, quiet and private.
We stayed in a king standard room for 2 nights and decided to stay in the one available suite for
an extra night
Walking distance to the triple D restaurant, old town, historical museums, shopping and Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf! A little Over a mile to cannery row.
This hotel was spotlessly clean, modern in its decor, comfortable bed and fluffy towels, nice refrigerator and furniture, and walking distance to the Monterey Fair Grounds (where we were attending a festival). There is also a very nice restaurant (Monterey Cookhouse) and a CVS drug store both walking distance from the hotel. The proprietor was kind enough to allow us to check in early as the room was available. She was a very pleasant person who made us feel welcome.
A perfect location for events at the Monterey Fairground! Right across from the festival we went to! Also a quick run or walk down to the Bay and bike/run/walk trail. An extra big plus: the front desk staff! The reception host was amazing and just a generally wonderful person! While the hotel/motel is not a five star spot by any means (it’s all about the convenient location), her hospitality and friendly vibe made our stay extra special and all the better!
The location is awesome. Once you’re open your room’s door - you’re already in the Monterey downtown. It’s so joyful to walk in early morning along the ocean shore. We parked our car at the hotel parking earlier than our check in was, and enjoyed our visit to aquarium and good restaurants nearby. The facility is clean and updated, the breakfast is so decent. We’ll definitely come back to this hotel as guests!
Amicable staff. We got a pack with edible goodies at the check-in. The room is OK, but the bathroom is too cold (we stayed during winter). Wlakable distance to Cannery RowUpon check-in, we were greeted by friendly staff and given a package of snacks. The room was satisfactory, but the bathroom felt too chilly during our winter stay. The hotel's distance from Cannery Row is walkable.
What a wonderful hotel! We especially like the welcome drink on arrival and it was a nice touch to meet the other guests. Lovely big room and the fireplace was very special. There was a travel cot (crib) waiting for us on arrival for our baby. Nice bathroom and facilities. Fantastic location right near Cannery Row.
The hotel is just down the street from Cannery Row and an easy 15-20 walk to downtown Monterey. It is reasonably priced compared to anything else you're going to find at this location. I liked not having to worry about getting breakfast before going out for the day.
Perfectly located in downtown Monterey in a historic hotel, ideal for accessing all necessary spots in walking distance to downtown. Easy parking available downtown in garages. Hotel is slightly dated but very sufficiently comfortable, with large room and amenities
Comfortable accommodation, clean and tidy. Only 20 minutes slow walk to the wharf, cannery row was easy walking distance, safe for my friend and I to walk at six in the morning. Only a ten minute drive from hotel to Carmel
Great hotel with a fabulous view over the Monterey Bay. Easy access to the city and good standard in the whole hotel Not a hyper-modern style but more like a well-kept country hotel. Breakfast was ok but only a la carte.
Room was excellent, tastefully decorated and exceeded our expectations. The hotel's in a really good location walkable through to downtown Monterey. Parking was also readily available for a small charge.
We liked the fact Pacific Inn was pet friendly and reasonable driving distance to all the main attractions which interested us. The hotel room does have a mini fridge and microwave. Fairly quiet.
Great location on the waterfront and right between Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf (plus the Convention Center). Our room was very comfortable and spacious, and staff was friendly.
Cute, quaint little hotel. Had all the amenities, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, snacks and water, AC etc.
Great location, literally 4 min walk to Monterey fairgrounds.
