What a place to stay, it was definitely worth it! But remember you have to drive 46 km by gravel road to get there. We drove a city car Ford Fiesta (without 4x4) and we've done it! Going there by such a car, you should count around 1,5 h one way. But with these views and sense that you are in the middle of nowhere, it was such a positive thrilled adventure :) For us this town Djúpavík with a Hotel Djúpavík was the best thing, which we came across in the whole Western Fiords. Definitely worth visiting!!

I imagine that most of the people staying here are doing so to go to Krossneslaug a few km up the road. But the cottage and its surroundings are worth a trip in their own right. Secluded but all the facilities that you need, including a gas BBQ outside which we used to cook burgers. All in all well worth the 100km drive from Hólmavík. And an added bonus is that if you are staying overnight you can visit the pool late or early and avoid the day trippers (just remember cash to pay or note the bank details to make a transfer)

This is probably the best place we have stayed in our 25 days in Iceland. Everything was spotlessly clean, stylish, and in great condition. Everything you could possibly want is there. From paper towels in the kitchen to wine bottle opener, salt and pepper, olive oil, etc. With underfloor heating, the cabin temp was very easy to adjust up or down. The fridge was a good size about 80 litres, 3 induction stove tops, and they all worked perfectly. There was a toaster and coffee machine jaffle maker as well. On the deck was a hot tub with amazing views and a bbq and outdoor furniture.
