I'm so glad having booked Casa Chilamate 2.0 for 3N which - together with the tours by Arturo from TripsNativos - was THE very highlight of two weeks travelling across CR. Casa 2.0 means there was a new bungalow in a well maintaned garden, equipped with everything one would need including kitchen facilities, good A/C and ventilator. I loved that the property is on the edge of the village, and next to the Nationsl Park. Means living among locals, without the tourists noises from the walking street, but with a group of monkeys as neighbors living in the tree 2 meters next to the bungalow, roaming on the patio roof, sound of birds, and the last morning even the paw prints of a Jaguar at the tiles infront of the door from a nightly visit! I was also welcomed by a fruit bowl of oranges and bananas which I much appreciated. The location is also a perfect start for tours and excursions in the beautiful nature surrounding Tortuguero. I can highly recommend to rent a guide from TripsNativos (run by Casa Chilamates), try to get Arturo as a guide. He was an absolutely fab, intelligent, enthusiastic but humble guy. By booking a tour with TripsNativos you also support the local music school for kids, where parts of the tour earnings are donated to. Last but not least: While I didn't met the owners of Casa Chilamates in person during my stay, the messaging via booking.com was perfect, and their friends/caretakers of the house were so lovely people, worth an extra visit just to meet them again. Would I return, and recommend to friends? Absolutely, 100%.

The hosts, Oscar and Karen, were superbly welcoming and friendly. Our favourite stay in all of Costa Rica! Quiet clean rooms with comfortable beds, individual A/C in our room, private bathroom and good shower. Safe and private. Well-equipped kitchen and a delightful covered patio to relax. We spotted a variety of birds, iguana, and a far off monkey from there. Easy walk to stores, restaurants, the boat dock, and the Tortuguero National Park. Oscar has his on boat with a quiet trolling motor, and he gave us an early morning boat tour of the National Park canals. He’s wonderful guide at spotting wildlife- many birds, spider monkeys, caiman, lizards.

El privilegi de tenir les vistes al carib, la tranquilitat a l allotjament i voltants. Al costat de gent local molt maca, molt hospitalaris, encantadors. Per estar en un lloc tant intrèpid ens hem sentit molt agust, instalacions perfectes, sense luxes pero en un lloc així no cal res més!

Habitació amb 4 llits i cuina petita comfortable per passar un parell de nits a Tortuguero, amb bona relació qualitat-preu! Platja davant l’allotjament, i zona on poder penjar les hamaques i reposar tranquil·lament. L’embarcadero principal des d’on surten les excursions està a uns 10 minuts caminant, però la barca des de La Pavona ens va deixar directament a l’hotel, i recollir l’últim dia. Personal molt amable!
