We absolutely loved every aspect of our stay at the JamboHouse. Arnold welcomes you with a series of recommendations and a welcome drink. The room is cozy, internet and water are working. We were grateful for the information about local restaurants and activities that can be arranged. We did both the sunset walking tour and the dhow sunset tour and enjoyed both of them very much. The view from the terrace is very nice and the breakfast is spectacular. Thank you once again for everything. If we are back in Lamu, we will definitely stay here again.

We werden bij de boot opgehaald door twee medewerkers van Jua House. Dat was direct een warm ontvangst. Ons gehele verblijf hebben we ontzettend genoten. De B&B was prachtig. Alle elementen kloppen, de energie is heerlijk. Elke dag keken we ook weer uit naar het ontbijt en de zoetigheid om 16 die uit eigen bakkerij kwam. Dank voor dit heerlijke verblijf, ik zal het iedereen aanraden! Ohja en de douche is de fijnste die we in Kenia hebben gehad, jammer dat lang douchen geen optie is op het eiland…

Ongelooflijk mooi, imposant herenhuis (in oude centrum, direct achter het fort) met veel historie en een exotische, artistieke styling. Alle bezienswaardigheden en strand op loopafstand. Allerliefste ontvangst door eigenaren Christina & Paul en manager Mohamed. Geweldige service van de staf en heerlijke diners (optioneel) aan feestelijke tafel. De eco-visie wordt hier oprecht gevoeld en uitgedragen. Vraag om rondleiding op de boerderij, waar permacultuur wordt gepraktiseerd. Erg de moeite waard! Wandel daarna terug naar Subira House via de stranden en je hebt een top-dag! Ik zou heel, héél graag terugkomen op mijn volgende reis naar Kenia!

The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

amazing Swahili house over 3 floors. comfortable for 5/6 people in 3 rooms with more beds in open areas. absolutely stunning place could have spent longer there. we organised for the chef to buy some groceries and cook us breakfast which worked really well.

Breakfast was really nice, with a choice between Swahili and English style and it was served on the cozy rooftop terrace with views of the sea. I was lucky to be upgraded to their spacious and well-appointed "executive" suite on the third floor. Omar and Lilian were great to deal with at breakfast and with laundry etc., I appreciated the help they provided in many ways and look forward to coming again.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is always available and welcoming. We have access to a wide range of activities and the hotel is well located, in the center of Shilla and a few minutes by walk from the beach.

The design in this property is amazing, beautiful. The indoor pool is exquisite. The staff was excellent and the apartments large and comfortable.

This villa was gorgeous, in the historic Swahili style of Lamu. We had the loveliest time here. The location is relatively quiet though you are in the middle of town - we walked everywhere easily. There is also good Wi-Fi which was great for us as we were working remotely on some of the days. The rooftop has a lovely breeze and sitting area where the Wi-Fi reaches. There is also a very nice sitting area around the small pool. Jamhuri, who welcomed us on arrival, was friendly and easy to communicate with. With enjoyed every moment of our stay and I would definitely return again.
