El desayuno era excelente; comida casera, variada y muy rica. La fruta estaba muy buena y la mermelada hecha por la dueña, más aún (tuvimos la suerte de llevarnos un bote!!). El hotel es muy bonito, decorado con muy buen gusto, tranquilo y a dos minutos andando de la playa. Han sido muy atentos con nosotros en todo momento. La piscina era muy bonita también.

A small paradise oasis with 11 beautiful rooms located around a perfectly sized swimming pool. The hotel feels like brand new and is very well maintained. You can almost feel the owners' love for their hotel. WiFi is good. The water pressure in the showerroom is very good, and amazingly hot water is coming from your private heater. The pool and garden area are so comfortable that you almost forget that you are not alone in this world. There is a small restaurant/bar with a short menu if you feel to stay in. The host and staff are amazing. If you have requests, they are following you up immediately (not as in many hotels, where they smile and say yes, but nothing actually happens).

The place is very special and therefore might not be right for everyone. I typically don't write reviews, but as the place is so special (and as I just missed a flight ;)) I would like to help directing the right people into the place: Come here if you are looking for: - a very personal experience with your hosts. After a very short time you will rather feel like visiting friends than being at a hotel. - amazing self-cooked food. Breakfast and dinner is also just like friends cooking for you. Collin is an amazing chef. Try his tuna steak. You will get cheaper offers for dinner in local restaurants, but in terms of quality and quantity they can't compete with Collin. Mind that Collin might not cook every night for you (e.g. when rugby is on), so talk early to him when you want to eat at the lodge. - a calm and spacious place in which you can sit directly at the sea in an exclusivity you will not have in all the nearby high-end hotels. You will have a huge property almost for your own. - very nice other guests. People are chilled and it's true what's written in the other reviews. Collin kicks out people who spread negative vibes ;-) - great views and a lonely sandbank. From the sand beach and pool terrace on the rocks right next to the sea and from the terraces of your bungalow you will have amazing views to the sea. Don't come here if you are looking for: - "Zanzibari 5-star service" in which you have a waiter every 5 meters serving you a cocktail and cleaners cleaning your room twice per day. It's just the 2 people owning the place and 1 employee. - A new hotel with a lot of standardization which was just build 1-2 years ago. The place was built over the past 20 years by the owners. Collin used to be in the construction industry himself so everything is built nicely. He does not like edges and standardization, so you will not feel like in a branded hotel. - Sand beaches to swim. Go to the west side of Nungwi.

The room and the facilities are very comfortable. The breakfast is rich and delicious. The owner and his assistant, Viktor are exceptionally friendly and helpful in really everything. The biggest help was that Viktor arranged motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) every day to the beach. The price is 3.000. TSH. for one way. Thank you again Jusuf and Viktor for the cosy accomodation :)

Everything was just amazing! The people in the house were very kind and lovely. The breakfast was delicious, everyday we had a different home made and fresh fruits. You walk 8 min and have shops, restaurants and pharmacy available. 15 min walk and you get to Nungwi beach. Everything was perfectly cleaned and tidy. They made us feel at home❣️ Do not hesitate to ask them, they will help with everything. I highly recommend this place.Hope to see you soon my friends. Asante!

The pineapple house was my home far away from home for over a month. The owner is such a nice person who was always ready to help. I felt very comfortable and left with a heavy heart at the end. The breakfast was great, fresh fruit every day, freshly squeezed juice and I even got some special gluten-free breakfast - and that's not so easy on the island. I can warmly recommend the pineapple house as the staff is super friendly, the rooms are nice and it’s close to the beach.

The beautiful place is located in a perfect location - very close to Royal Beach, Masai market and the main road in which you can find shops for everything you need. The host is just an amazing person, a great, warm, and welcoming host. When we arrived, she welcomed us with a post card and flower decorations to celebrate our honeymoon, and also gave us a generous plate of delicious fruits. She took care of every need that we had, on a daily basis. Laundry, kitchen, local recommendations and transfer, places to travel and to buy things like alcohol, SIM card, even Barbershop. They even go to a distant shop to buy a new fan, in addition to the one in the ceiling, because we came in unusually hot weather and I'm very sensitive about hit. Housekeeping, every day, with colorful flowers and cleaning, which was very nice. The rooms are in the middle of a big, colorful and beautiful garden, which also has some nice spots to sit and relax. The whole place is very quiet and safe. No doubt we will come again.

Tanya was very nice host. Breakfast was good enough with omelette, fruits, tea and coffe and freshly made fruit juice. She showed me the road to the sea and local restaurants, located mainly close to the sea. Tanya also changed USD to TZS for me on reasonable exchange rate, organized transfer from ZNZ airport. Tanya can also find a motor bike with the local driver - the best choice for short distance drive. Much more cheaper than TAXI. Although in the most of the bars and restaurants on the beach you can pay by card, most of them are using transactions in USD. If you are paying by card in USD, you have to pay more either in TZS (in cash). May be the owners of the restaurants are willing to receive some tips also from card payments. Way to beach - about 10 minutes by foot via local village from Tamaru House Bungalow.
