Breakfast was always great and it was served at my room every morning on time. Even though the location is not a beachfront,the beach is only a five minute walk and the location is very secure.we would go for walks to the beach at any time of the night. If you are looking for a pocket friendly and convenient place to stay,this is yourbest bet.

Uno dei più famosi e migliori hotel di Stone Town. Grande, con tanti servizi, tante camere e praticamente in spiaggia. Posizione centralissima, personale attento e gentilissimo nel soddisfare qualsiasi tua richiesta. Piscina e ristorante che si affacciano direttamente in spiaggia con alcuni lettini sulla sabbia dai quali ammirare in tramonto in una atmosfera davvero magica. Soggiorno perfetto! L’hotel mette anche a disposizione una changing room per dare la possibilità ai turisti di poter cambiarsi e docciarsi anche dopo aver effettuato il check out, servizio utilissimo.

Great clean, comfortable apartments across from the Tembo hotel; we liked being independent but with the use of the hotel facilities. Super location with friendly, helpful staff. Arranged a walking tour of Stonetown (the guide was called Chief - he was brilliant!) and a spice farm visit via reception - they were both excellent; really good value and both with a private guide.

Balcony House is a wonderful place with wonderful people. The rooms rate from very simple up to A/C and ocean view so there will be something for everyone whether or not you’re travelling by yourself or in companionship. The owners are from Kopenhagen and Zanzibar which is the perfect style mix in interior. It has everything you need, is kept simple and open, but still welcoming and cosy. Especially the common spaces such as kitchen, terraces and the balcony are truly wonderful with lots of in and outside facilities to hang out and relax. It is very clean, the communication with the owners extremely reliable and quick even from afar, and it is in a perfect location with walking distance to everything in stone town including the ferry station. I would always come back and enjoyed my time a lot.

I stayed for two days and had an incredible time. A week before my suitcase got lost and I had a lot of help from Nadia, one of the girls working at the reception. Nadia also helped me to find a good tour and to have a better experience in Zanzibar. I am super grateful to her and to Zava House for making my experience beautiful and unforgettable. I have never stayed in a place with such nice people. The place is super well located and the rooms are big, cool and comfortable. I hope to come back soon!
