Casa Carvalhal is an amazing property that is maintained to a very high standard by the owners. Our room and the ensuite were very spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable. Having a separate dressing room was a real bonus. The attention to detail in the rooms is exceptional. Our room had a terrace with chairs & sunloungers and it was lovely to relax outside with a book and enjoy the sun. We have visited many places and can honestly say this is definitely one of the best. The breakfast was incredible and very healthy with the majority of the food being homemade e.g. yogurt, marmalade, freshly squeezed orange juice and granola - being given a bag to take pastries, bread etc with us was a lovely touch. Herman and Luc are fantastic hosts, who clearly have a passion for what they do - they were both more than happy to help us with ideas of things to do in the area. There is plenty of parking and the property is very secure and the locked gate can only be accessed by guests. We would have no hesitation in recommending Casa Carvalhal if you are visiting Gois or the surrounding area

Comfortable beds and big bathrooms. Very up to date bathrooms and on every floor. The yard is beautiful. Right on the water. Fruit trees and ample parking. Hosts are very kind and very nice. The BBQ is wood fired. They supply wood, and you can also pick driftwood from the beach. Quiet setting. We just love this place and we will definitely be back.

The host is very nice and always available The details show how much she puts into creating a nice environment for her guests. You will get antique furniture and home décor, embroidered towels, nice artwork, handmade rugs...you feel the love everywhere you look...this is not Ikea.. :) The view from the house is just amazing and also the location is perfect to visit all the attractions in the area

CDR moderne luxe en-verslunarmiðstöðin Spectaculair uitzicht er nýlega enduruppgert gistiheimili í Vila Cova de Alva, þar sem gestir geta nýtt sér sundlaugina sem best með útsýni, bað undir berum... The whole feel of the place was relaxing and somewhat a great retreat. Dani was a great host, so kind and attentive, offering meal options and then 1 night cooking with the other guests for one evening, a really nice vibe. Dani speaks 5 languages so we felt very much at home, as did other guests from different backgrounds, which created a strong bond between us. The pool and grounds are exceptional and worth a visit by its own.

O Palheiro - Vista Panorâmica Jacuzzi er staðsett í Sobreira Formosa og býður upp á gistirými með loftkælingu og svölum. Gestir geta nýtt sér verönd og arinn utandyra. The location, the building, the surrounds - all were exceptional. Ana met us on arrival and showed us around. She even dropped off some home made bread a bit later and couldnt have been more helpful. If you want to get away from the big cities and see the stars at night while soaking in a warm Jacuzzi tub out in the fresh air then this is the place for you. We could only stay one night and day but I would definitely stay longer next time. The villages are absolutely stunning, only 42 people live there. Very friendly. A great restaurant across the valley that serves delicious food. There is a man made pool in the river behind the village also but beware, its cold! Some great walks and lots of history around. Spectacular is all I can say.
