Absolutely stunning million dollar view from the room and its beautifully designed balcony. Large, comfortable room. View changed from hour to hour, cloud sea like an ink painting one moment (not guaranteed, we were lucky), crisp night city lights twinkling in the distance at 4am, I could sit and watch all day long, except you are in some of the best (hilly) hiking in the country. All my photos from a single overnight stay. Good, simple breakfast. Very peaceful feeling. This is for the quad rooms. Smaller rooms will not have the terrace. Older photos do not show the classy partitions between each rooms' balcony. Would love to return for a whole week. Super kind hosts; don't speak English (I know rudimentary Chinese and used translation app).

Kim from the frontdesk was amazing, very lovely, helpful and friendly. She provided us an itinerary for rainy days which was nice. We received a free upgrade to a room with bathtub. The room was 1 hour before check-in time ready. It was located at the end of the corridor and was quiet, no noise from the corridor or neighbors. It was very clean, the bathroom equipped with a Japanese toilet and linnen also. Beds are very comfortable (for European standards), size is about 160 x 200 cm and we loved the black out curtains. AC worked perfectly and quiet. Western and Asian breakfast available which is different every day, not too much choice but just enough. At the breakfast area you can get free snacks and tea/water throughout the day. Free umbrella service available for rainy days. Recommended!

Alishan B&B YunMinGi has an one-level traditional lovely Taiwanese house and a beautiful contemporary 5-story building, both are connected by a short walkway. There is a fruit garden next to our guest house. The balconies in the new building overlook a sea of clouds and mountains. Both house and building are encircled by a lovely tea plantation.

Exceptionally good place, very good location etc. The owner was incredible kind and helpful, she took us for free to another town, where a bus departed to another town, showing us several interesting places along the way. At the end, she gave us food for the journey...I would very highly recommend the place.

The dinner was truly excellent. Given all meals are included, the hotel was great value for money. The staff also took us on a nighttime walk after dinner. The hotel itself is in a beautiful tea field and very remote. The rooms were comfortable and warm in the winter but - remember to bring your own towel!

I was even picked up by the host when i arrived. A very nice and big dinner can be booked, a very tasty breakfast is included. I loved my room and bathroom, everything seemed very clean and new. In the morning i participated in a (free) tea ceremony which was interesting and very good. You can also find many other places in the area doing something similar, but it really felt like a meditative ceremony and i loved the tea.

Air was fresh and we could take lots of walks right from the hotel. Sea of clouds appeared on the mornings we stayed. Owner was very obliging to fetch us from the bus stop/village centre for meals and travel. But we enjoyed the pretty walk through the village from centre back to hotel when we did not have luggage, despite the steep uphill climb.

Supplies are basic and dated and the room not so big but still very clean with a charming view on Fenqihu valley. Staff is very kind and provides maps and very helpful tips on how to explore the surroundings. The hotel is right below train station at walking distance to all Fenqihu attractions.
