The views are amazing, we didn't need to go to the beach because the views and the pool (that also has an amazing view) were enough. (I recommend cooking there, as going out to eat may be a little tedious.) We had a great time!

Rancho Capulin is an elegant and beautiful work of architectual and landscape design. The views from there are gorgeous, and the sights and sounds of nature are plentiful and wonderful. The room was very serene and very comfortable. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The location is great. Quiet and tucked away, but only a few minutes from Carara National Park, and other local activities. We enjoyed everything about our stay.

Until now you will only hear of Cerro Lodge as a recommendation by birders. This is a cheap, value-for-money alternative for those looking to bird on a tight budget in this area. The rooms are OK, nothing much to praise there. But the property is secluded. If there are no other tourists you can have the open pool to yourself. My friend and I enjoyed relaxing there in the evening. The owner is friendly and stayed in touch to ensure we were OK.
