This motel was very upmarket and clean. It was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was very spacious with the added bonus of not only a large shower but also a spa bath. I have no problem recommending this to anyone else who wants a great stay.

Portmans Motor Lodge features an outdoor swimming pool, guest laundry (charges apply) and free unlimited Wi-Fi. It is situated just 5 minutes’ walk from the cafes, restaurants and bars of Hastings city centre.

Not just clean — impeccably clean! Room was very comfortable. Parking was literally 3 steps from the room. A guest laundry was a bonus. Breakfast was extra but very reasonably priced. Location was closer to vineyards than Napier.

Check in was quick and easy, thanks Tony and Rachel. The property is well maintained. Our family was in the two bedroom cottage (Bluebell) and although the property shared with 2 other cabins, it was set up so privacy was not an issue. Very quiet and relaxing. Cleanliness and comfort were exceptional. Lots of little extras (games, bike rental, chickens….). Definitely a recommendation.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

We were accidently double booked in a cabin. Our host offered us a glamping tent instead. That turned out to be a brilliant experience and something we will never forget. She also shouted the first round of drinks. How good was that.

Beautiful, modern accommodation in a quiet, private location. Really loved the little touches of having cheese and crackers supplied. Can’t stop raving about St Andrew’s Limes date and lime chutney!!

Love the property! Super cute and clean. Pretty pricey for a cabin but I was also there for the biggest weekend of the bay! Staff were lovely. I loved that there was coffee/bar/food onsite although hard to get hold of people at times, and then seemed like I was interrupting them at first. One I got to know them, it was no trouble. Amenities were great.

First time staying in chalet type accommodation in a holiday park. What a great type of accommodation! 2 bedroom, 1 with bunks and a single, the other with queen size bed. Comfy beds, nice linen. Lovely grounds. Camping sites being developed alongside cabins and cottages. Very close to Havelock North village centre.

The location was very peaceful and nicely organised with enough room between cabins. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Close to both Havelock North and Hastings town centers and for visiting the wineries in the area. Good farmer’s market in Havelock North to visit on Sundays.

We travelled for work and arrived late with ease. The location was beautiful alongwith the accomodation. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area or request it to other friends and colleagues. We loved that we also got to try your beautiful chutney’s/relishes and drinks all made from produce on the property and is a great talking point when recommending it! It was warm and comfortable, can't fault it!

It has been well thought out. stylish and comfortable with everything you need. there are nice little touches like a comprehensive guide to the area and condiments from the orchard. it will be great when the trees have grown to provide more privacy but the way they have laid out the cabins means they are private enough. the space in front of the cabin was great for the kids. Thank you very much for making our weekend extra special.

Absolutely fabulous property with many accommodation options, owners are in process of building new facilities for campers with a communal block and a lovely pool. Our unit was a small cabin but we had the use of an enormous communal area with a full kitchen, huge dining table and wonderful leather couches & chairs for lounging in front of a fire. This area looked over a lake with fountain & ducks, it was all so scenic & peaceful. The property is set in lovely gardens bordering the river
