The location was amazing! Enjoyed the views with wildlife grazing by early morning and evenings. The pool was an oasis as the Temps were in the 34 C range. When we arrived we had plenty of wood next to our braai. Highly recommend going on the ostrich tour.

We discover this Lodge in a very quite and green area withgreat views. And then we met the owner - Len - who has a amazing sense of hospitality and upgrade our stay to another level of happiness. We felt directly welcome and this feeling stays there during all our stay. The lodge was also offering and amazing dinner that we enjoyed the 2 nights with high quality food and wines. On top of that, we were surronded by lovely and friendly dogs that my children enjoyed to play with. Definitly a higly recommended place to stay.

Situated at the waterside is one of the best a La Carté restaurants in the Southern Cape, where award-winning wines and Karoo cuisine made from fresh, local produce is served. Alongside the restaurant is a shaded deck from which spectacular views of the Swartberg mountains can be enjoyed and even hippos, Elephants, other wildlife, and bird species that visit the waterhole frequently can be spotted. There is free parking on site and a shuttle is available on request from George Airport, 71 km away.

This property is superb in all regards. The hosts, Elza and Albert, are gracious, welcoming, and ever so helpful. We just returned from almost 3 weeks in South Africa, staying in a number of guest houses. Riverside was our most enjoyable stay. We regretted not having booked a longer stay at this wonderful establishment. The attention to detail in all matters of the accommodation are quite remarkable, really. This is a must stay when in the Outdshoorn/George area. The breakfast room and fare were very upscale without feeling stuffy. Food was delicious!

The best thing about the property is the hostess Elna. She and her husband run the place with a lot of love for hospitality. This is typically why we prefer a bed & breakfast/lodge type of place over a hotel. Apart from the warm welcome, Elna gave us some amazing information on the area and some sightseeing we could do. Stop looking further and book the Zwartberg Mountain View Lodge, it is magnificent! We stayed for two nights with our four children (9-14 yrs) and absolutely loved the lodge, the view, the animals on the grounds, the pool, the braai dinners and the walking trail. Varley and Hannalize are fantastic and helpful hosts and we very much enjoyed talking to them about life in SA as well as the many great sites in the area. We could easily have stayed another night or two. A highlight on our trip. Easy accessible with any car. Hope that we will visit again one day!
