Shuttles services to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing can be booked at the lodge. The staff provided exceptional guidance so that we could take stunning views of the mountains during sunset. Very high quality breakfast. Overall, exceeded my expectations in this rather remote/resource limited (to a city person at least) location.

Guests have access to BBQ facilities, large viewing decks around the lodge and luggage storage. There is also a laundry service. Both the guest lounge and the conservatory have a warming fireplace.

The River Lodge staff can help guests organise local activities such as trout fishing guides, summer walks and organise transport such as snow shuttles during winter and volcanic flights. My partner and I stayed at the River Lodge during our Christmas/ summer holiday and it was EXCEPTIONAL. Cleanest room we have ever stayed in. The hosts are fantastic, great vibes all round! The included breakfast was delicious and we had all the amenities we needed. Well worth the price and experience away from a chain hotel. The setting is so green, relaxing and warm. We slept so well as it was so quiet. Highly recommend you stay here if you are planning to hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - Dani can organise a direct shuttle to/from the track for you.

Located 17 km from Turoa, Dakune Chill - The Chalet provides accommodation in Ohakune with access to a hot tub. Guests can benefit from a balcony and an outdoor fireplace. What truly took our experience to the next level, however, was the surprise addition of a Weber grill. This top-notch grill became the centerpiece of our evening gatherings, allowing us to cook up some incredibly delicious dinners. The quality of the grill ensured that every meal was cooked to perfection, adding a special touch to our stay that we hadn't anticipated. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness in providing such a high-quality grill for guests' use really stands out. It's not just about the accommodation itself, but also about creating memorable experiences, and in this case, they succeeded wonderfully. Overall, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you're looking for a comfortable and memorable stay with the added bonus of being able to enjoy fantastic grilled meals, this is the place for you. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

The property was exceptional! It was clean and well stocked for all cooking needs. The chalet was comfortable and tidy, we will most certainly be staying here again very soon!

Featuring a 28-jet five seater hot spa and a terrace with mountain views, Ruapehu Log Lodge is a dog-friendly holiday home, situated in Raetihi, in the Ruapehu district.

There is a seating area, 2 dining areas and a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine. Towels and bed linen are featured in this holiday home. Other facilities at Ruapehu Log Lodge include a billiards table and five-seater spa situated undercover on the deck with views of the mountain. Incredible house! Loved the pool table, board games, hot tub, fully stocked kitchen, piano -- wish we could've stayed longer. Having the wood stove burning for us when we arrived was a nice touch.

Boasting river views, Beech Tree Lodge provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 24 km from Turoa. Featuring free private parking, the lodge is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as hiking, skiing and billiards. Unbeknown to the host our Whanau live directly across the road so to find this gem was perfect will definitely come back

Ruapehu Country Lodge is located within a 15-minute drive of Tongariro National Park, home of the world-renowned Tongariro Crossing. Free Wi-Fi access is available in this lodge.

The rooms offer private access to a courtyard, and come with a seating area, flat-screen TV, and tea-and-coffee making facilities. Each en-suite bathroom includes a hairdryer and free toiletries. Bernie and Marie were absolutely delightful hosts and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The property is conveniently located near to the various activities in the area, which made travelling to and from a breeze! Breakfast was also amazing, and with sheep and alpaca at the property as well, I can’t recommend this stay more!
