Obvious attraction is the Katherine Gorge; downtown the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre (GYRACC) - well curated gallery; and proximity to Edith Falls and Umbrawarra Gorge (near Pine Creek)

We did a cruise of Katherine (Nitmiluk) Gorge which involved two gorges with a short walk in between. This was very enjoyable, comfortable with an interesting and informative narration. Scenery is spectacular and not to be missed.

Katherine was a vibrant town but we were only passing through on our way to Darwin .The Glamping tent accomodation which was pet friendly at the Gorge View Bush Retreat and Sunset view of the Gorge appealed to us as a stopover.

We chose the wrong time to visit Katherine during monsoon season. Most tourist sites are closed and very limited to what you can do. It’s a waste of time for us. In addition the accommodation we booked didn’t meet our expectations, so we decided to drive back to Darwin.

Not much appeal for Katherine Town itself however there is plenty of Indigenous arts and cultural experiences around to witness. Main purpose of the stay was for Nitmiluk which was sensational with a wealth of knowledge from the guides on the Indigenous culture and way of life.

We only spent a day at Katherine, as we were on the way to Kakadu. We visit the Katherine hot springs which was lovely for a morning dip as there weren't many people there yet. Would recommend canoeing in Katherine Gorge, stunning views and you might see some crocodiles. Edith falls is also another good place to visit for a hike and swim.
the room size is good and location is right by the hot springs, which is “closed” during the wet season (we visited mid December). much of the Outback sites are closed down in the wet season, even though it’s not unbearably hot. Katherine is a nice small town with most of the amenities you’ll need. the staff was friendly and allowed a late check out since we got in late. the pool was in good condition and cool temperature. wifi worked well, though they cap you at 1 GB/day per device.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely spot just outside of Katherine. Billy and Andrea were excellent hosts and we loved chatting with them during our stay. Our accommodation was very comfortable and the pool was a big bonus, especially as it was very hot while we were there. We'd definitely recommend this unique stay!
The property was very nice. I stayed in one of the bunk rooms. It was small, but perfect for one person. The bathrooms were some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. There are a ton of mosquitos, so don’t forget bug spray at night. The pool was great. Staff was super nice and helpful to try to help me find a way to the gorge.
Just out of town and the Katherine Hot Spring were right behind it . Staff were really very nice and accommodated us when we added an extra day and moved into a hotel room . They allowed us to move straight over at 10.00am in the morning at normal checkout time and did not make us wait until 2.00pm check in time .
'Destination' stay. Experiential/relaxing: great location a few minutes walk from the Katherine Gorge jetty; very well equipped and comfortable self contained cabins; very good restaurant (dinner and breakfast); helpful/obliging staff; managed by Accor. Highly recommended.
The Pine Tree Motel was in a central location in Katherine secure behind locked gates. The 7am - 7pm reception was convenient for late check in and early check out. The property was clean and comfortable for our overnight stay.
This was an excellent hotel for the an overnighter in Katherine. Clean, comfortable and modern. After staying in some dodgy outback hotels this was a breath of fresh air! Will stay again next time I’m in Katherine.
It is a great hotel in the middle of the national park. The food was probably made by a French cook, so the best we have had in Australia so far. The rooms are big and well equipped. The location is excellent.
Loved the location.
We enjoyed walking in the bush and along the Katherine river behind the park.
The park is a nice size - please keep it that way
Loved the cabin - just what we needed. Thank you.
Management are wonderful welcoming hosts. We now make this our accommodation for all Katherine work trips.
Incredibly clean and well maintained.
Staff are accessible and friendly.
Very welcoming. Quiet and safe. I almost don’t want to share this positive review because this is a gem of a place. I am not staying anywhere else in Katherine if I have a choice.
rooms have recently been upgraded - so everything is very fresh and clean - parking out the front of room is fabulous - and property is pet friendly - although at higher end
very comfortable rooms, easy access with parking at the door in most cases. the pool is a treat on a hot day. the restaurant would be the best in town.
