A beautifully designed, well thought out property, with everything and more! We had two wonderful days stay. The view alone was stunning and the easiest of access to catch the Bruny Island Ferry for a day trip. The breakfast supplies were such a welcoming surprise!

The Bruny Island ferry operates out of Kettering so all visitors to Bruny must pass through Kettering but many do not take time to stay in Kettering which has so much to offer and provides a gateway to the Huon River, Cygnet and various places of interest.
The Peppermint Bay Hotel offers great food and outlook acoss the channel while the Oyster Cove hotel is also worth a visit.
Many tourists are unaware of Oyster Cove as the last settlement of Tasmania's small indigenous population who had been held at Wybelenna on Flinders Island. Trucaninni and King Billy Lanne were two of the 44 people moved to Oyster Cove around 1847. Trucannin was born on Bruny Island and her ashes were scattered in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel 100 years after her death in 1876.

1 day on Bruny Island is not enough.
1 day on Bruny Island is not enough.
Must do the boat tour and drop into the winery for their seafood (brunch of Oysters and mussels.
Missed out on the oyster shack (not enough time), but the oysters at the winery were good).
Leaving the island at the end of the day - expect to catch the 2nd or 3rd at the end of the day, but there are 2 running every half hour.

Kettering is the perfect gateway to Bruny Island with the Ferry Terminal and Oyster Inn Hotel the main drawcords. There are a number of tranquil B&B's around the town that is only 30 minutes south of Hobart.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Oyster Cove Chalet and wished we could have stayed an extra night.
The accommodation was very comfortable and immaculate with many personal touches and a great continental breakfast supplied.
Very close to Kettering and surrounds and easy access to Bruny Island Ferry.
We enjoyed the local wildlife who came to visit and thoroughly enjoyed the bush setting where the chalets are located.
Both Guy and Annie (and ‘family’) were warm and friendly hosts and a pleasure to speak with.
A beautiful property - super quiet with native animals visiting in the evening! Friendly hosts who came to say hello on arrival and offered to help with our bags etc. Jonathan came back later to put some wallaby food out and we ate dinner looking out at them having theirs. Very close to the ferry to Bruny Island which was our reason for staying here. (less than 5 mins!)
If you want a quiet peaceful location then Parnella Kettering is No. 1. The breakfast provided was exceptional, facilities modern and very clean, Host Jonathan was so helpful and friendly. Couldn't ask more from a host. Wildlife came to your door each evening which included potoroos, pademelons and little bush wrens.
Outstanding property - exquisitely finished and presented. The views of the boats in the harbour were spectacular. A perfect deck to curl up with a cuppa in the sunshine and take in the sights and sounds of Kettering. I'd happily stay here again, it was flawless.
Loved our stay at Kettering. Jess was really helpful, welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable room, delicious breakfasts and a great location, close to Hobart but far enough away to escape to peace and quiet. Very close to the Bruny Island Ferry.
Spacious room, great view of the harbour, heated bathroom floor, great breakfast. We ate at the Opal Cove Tavern both nights as the food, view and service was great, and a short walk home. We walked to the pick up point for our Bruny Island tour.
A comfortable spacious room with some good inclusions. We had a problem with the tv which Jess promptly sorted for us. Breakfast was very good. Jess gave us some good recommendations for our day trip to Bruny Island
Very conveniently located at Kettering for exploring the area. Close to shops and facilities. Quiet bush / vineyard setting so a quiet and peaceful location. Slow combustion fire adds to the comfort and appeal,
Luxurious is one way of describing this accommodation. All the extras were lovely from the breakfast food to the record player and games. Lovely touch. We'll stay again if ever back in Kettering.
A delightful breakfast was provided. Perfect location with a lovely view overlooking the Kettering marina area. Excellent location for the ferry to Bruny Islands.
