One of our new favourite places to stay on the trip back to Hobart. A cute little town that reminds us of being somewhere in England, Ross delivers all the cute and charm. This motel fits beautifully into the scenery and with the river at its doorstep, is very quiet and peaceful

Disappointed that the flour mill no longer exists - had a great conversation with the miller who was very knowledgeable. Bakery top rate as family members wanted scallop pies and other treats. Lovely old houses. Easy to walk around Ross - Visited the Wool shop and Womens factory - Ate at accommodation which was top notch. Would avoid the whiskey distillery too commercial for a heritage town.

Make the Wool Centre your first stop, you can watch a video about the town, pick up information from their brochures and by chatting with their kind and helpful staff. It will help you get your bearings and ensure you don't miss any of the wonderful historic treasures Ross has to offer.
We enjoyed a terrific pizza at the Old Ross Bakery on Saturday night and a beaut meal at the Man O Ross pub on Sunday night.

Ross really is a lovely historic town in the midland heart of Tasmania.
We enjoyed our accommodation, the dinner at local hotel, strolling through the shops next morning, exploring beautiful Ross Bridge, then onto The Ross Female Factory - fascinating - so well done - befire finishing off with a scallop pie at lunch time (two great bakeries) before heading to Devonport.
We wanted to stop and take in special places in our holiday and Ross certainly was one.

Lots of history. Everything was in close proximity.
Lots of history. Everything was in close proximity. Information plaques on most notable homes etc. Beautifully kept cottage gardens. Stay included a Monday and Tuesday and found a few businesses closed because of weekend trading. Bakery 31 our favourite eating place. Plenty of shops to find that special gift. Everywhere staff were friendly and helpful.

There are many beautifully restored historical homes both large and small and businesses like award-winning bakeries and the Man'o' Ross pub. The town is flanked by large sheep and cropping properties within rolling and undulating hills and mountain ranges running north/south on both sides.

Ross is a very quaint town with wonderful accommodation.
Ross is a very quaint town with wonderful accommodation. We were delighted with our accomodation at "Our Cottage " very spacious comfy, clean and the hosts were very obliging. Peaceful and friendly with lovely cafes and delicious foods. The history of the place is interesting. Great meals at the Ross Hotel. A must to eat there.
We stayed in 'Cupid's Nest', a cosy little one bedroom part of the cottage. Host Michael met us to hand over the keys and had the fire started for us. A great stay in Ross, lovely and warm with comfy seats. The couch reclines but we much prefered the chairs. There is a little garden you can also enjoy and walk right up to the creek at the back to watch the ducks. Lots of cute bird life right next to the house too. Be sure to grab delicious food or treats from the nearby bakery to make your stay!
Location was superb. Ross is only a small town so nothing is far away but this motel is located on the river. So peaceful and beautiful. We had a picnic there with our wine and scallop pie. Lady managing the motel was kind and helpful. She had frozen meals cooked in the local hotel which we could heat in the microwave.
A group of six of us, including my husband, my elderly mother, grandma, and two young daughters, stayed in Ross for one night. The house was large and comfortable. It was a good place to explore the town of Ross. It was within walking distance to the bakery. Just minutes away.
Our host Leanne, was fantastic. The town of Ross, is just magical, friendly, and very historic. Loved the fact that we slept in a cottage, built by convicts, almost 200 years ago, and right in the main street, opposite, some of Tasmania's best bakeries, and dining locations.
Ross was a fabulous little village to stay for a couple of nights …motel was great as was the pub and cafe / bakery .
A couple of really interesting Antique / secondhand shops and an interesting town history .
I would definitely recommend a stop here when visiting Tassie
Great location, near where I was working. Well insulated cool during the hot day, warm during the cool nights. Love the garden with a lot of fruit trees and birds. Big bathroom with spa was lovely to relax in. Very cosy stay in a unique heritage spot.
The breakfast provisions and all the snacks were amazing. Host was very friendly and has thought of everything. The bed was comfortable and the cottage was very warm. It is within walking distance to everything in Ross. Would definitely return.
Spotless presentation, and a generous self-catered breakfast. Attractive, well maintained garden. The hosts were lovely, too. The town has two bakeries and a hotel. We had dinner at the hotel - it was well above average pub-food.
Simply beautiful, clean, bright, pleasant place. Loved it so much, wished we could have spent more time but it was literally just a pass through. I might go back and trat myself though. See Ross more than driving by it.
Lovely little motel. Very clean, comfortable and functional. The bed was wonderful. Would recommend if you want a stop over in a gorgeous little Tassie town. Very peaceful setting.
