The hotel was handy although parking is always a challenge in Europe. The breakfast was a little sparse but okay. The dining area was exceptional and the rooms clean and roomy.

The WW2 museums are fantastic, and are highly recommended.
The WW2 museums are fantastic, and are highly recommended. The 101st Airborne Museum, which is a 2 minute walk from the main square (General Mc Auliffe square), is extremely interesting. The life-size mannequins are just too real though!. The 101st Barracks is about a 45 minute walk from the centre, and well worth a visit. As is the Mardasson Memorial and Museum, the Bois Jacques Woods, and whilst you're in that area, a visit to the German war cemetery at Recogne should be taken in too. Bastogne is a good base to visit other WW2 museums, such as the one at La Gleize. If time permits the visitor, I would also strongly advise a visit to the small town of Wereth where there is a memorial to the 11 soldiers of the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion, an all-African-American unit, who were massacred during the Battle of the Bulge. Do your research prior to a visit to Bastogne, and plan your activities, you won't be disappointed.

Obviously there's a lot of historic value to Bastogne but this mainly can be found just out of the town itself. 'Downtown' is not really interesting and the WW2 legacy is being commercialised in an almost offensive way - but okay.
The War Museum is quite interesting and the audio guide is very well done. Although the entrance fee of 22 Euros per person is really steep!!

A busy town with some excellent restaurants and bars to frequent once you have visited the many War Memorial sites. I would particularly recommend the 101st Airborne Museum.
Supermarkets close at 1930hrs. So don't get caught out like we did. However, there is a 24hr garage nearby called shop and go where we were able to get some supplies after the shops had closed.

A fabulous little town full of history.
A fabulous little town full of history. We met so.many lovely friendly people including an American war veteren in bar nuts. What an honour and a privilege. Also had a few good meals, burgers in nuts were huge and very tasty. Food in Leo's station wagon was exceptional as was the service. We visited ww2 sites..so humbling. The airborne museum was brilliant. Informative and very well set out. The interactive displays are a must. Jaques woods overlooking Foy with the foxholes...wow. Such a humbling place. Walk around perimeter of fence to see the originals overlooking a field facing Foy.

If you're interested in the WWII history of the area, it is a must see. The museums are fantastic (Bastogne War Museum and 101st Airborne Museum). You can enjoy wonderful food, decadent chocolates, and wonderfully warm people during your visit. Several languages are spoken for and travelers that are apprehensive about a language barrier. Absolutely loved this trip!
it was picture perfect. it was big and roomy and enough space for our entire family. the grounds outside were so beautiful. the house was clean and had everything we needed and more. The owners were super kind and attentive and came out to great us and even say goodbye. After staying in Paris and London I could not take one more night in a big loud city or small cramped hotel. this was exactly what we needed. i highly recommend this home if you want a beautiful relaxing place to rest your head
The general areas (reception, breakfast room, stairwell) were always clean and seemed newly renovated. The location is top - everything is in walking distance. The personal was very nice and could speak English - there was a problem with our booking, but they fixed it right away. The room was a good size. Breakfast was ok (would have liked hardboiled eggs and some sort of vegetable like cucumber, tomatoes, etc... though). The hotel has a locked door at all times and you need a code to get in.
If you are a World War 2 Enthusiast, this is probably one of the best place to stay in Bastogne. My host Marc was friendly and welcoming. He is also a History teacher and knows a lot about the Battle of Bulge. He guided me to n how to best visit the places of historical importance around the town. You will also find many World War 2 artifacts on display inside the house. A good breakfast and a nice family atmosphere. The room was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds.
This is a beautiful house in a remote village a few km away from Bastogne. Cows in the fields below the garden. Good facilities for a family to use and plenty of walks around about. For us was handy as we were visiting sites around Bastogne (this house is in the middle of Battle of the Bulge country). Very peaceful place but has all modern conveniences - dishwasher / microwave / BBQ / WiFi / TV. Highly recommended.
A comfortable secure accommodation, clean and very caring & competent staff. The location was excellent for what we needed and don’t let the Petrol Station location put you off, once in your room you don’t hear a thing. Lots of restaurants with in walking distance. If we need a hotel in this area again, then we wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.
Rooms were exceptionally clean, beds were very comfortable. Location was great. Very knowledgeable about historical places in the area that we wanted to visit. What meant the most to us, Marc waiting up for our late arrival. My husband's favorite place we stayed while in Europe.
Our family really enjoyed our stay in this warm, modern gite with caring hosts. The property is well located for driving, on the outskirts of Bastogne. The kids loved the bunk bed, mini football and pool table, and the sharing of Netflix access was much appreciated!
Great location for a last minute booking; close to the town of Bastogne and all the sites! Free parking lot right outside. Great value for the entire house. 2 story’s; 3 rooms! Couldn’t ask for more! Beyond nice! Great communication with host!
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Appart Hotel En Ville, and we return for good reasons. The accommodations are always very clean and comfortable, the location is excellent, and communication with the host is always timely and clear.
It was a great add on to our Europe trip. Loved the town of Bastogne. Liked the restaurant that was connected with the hotel. A little pricey - but very good food.
nice two story facility. living area with kitchen on the bottom floor, bedroom and bathroom up the stairs. bathroom is part of the bedroom but very nice.
