The property was actually a little nicer than we expected.....perhaps because we got an upgrade to our room which had a bit of a view of the water. Nice big comfy bed, good sized room and a clean bathroom.

Tofino is worth the drive.
Tofino is worth the drive. Loved the casual vibe of this remote surf town. In winter it was delightful. We went up to Ucluelet and did a walk. We surfed in very thick wetsuits, and we had a sauna on the beach. The whale watching in winter didn't seem to be so easy to find.

What an absolutely interesting place!
What an absolutely interesting place! And we experienced both a trees breaking, power outing ferocious storm, and some pleasant and moderately sunny weather. Our stay at the Tin Wis Resort was beyond our expectations. We look forward to coming back, maybe in the summer next time.

Visiting in the "off season" was very nice.
Visiting in the "off season" was very nice. Everyone seemed relaxed and there were no crowds. Lots of free parking available. Most stores/restaurants were open. Some of the tour groups were still operating as well.
Co-op was a great place for reasonably priced groceries, including a deli/bakery.
Trails were well groomed and easy to locate. Try to work in the Bog Boardwalk trail as it's a very unusual area.
People were still surfing/kayaking, etc.

The 1.5 hr seaplane flight with Atleo was excellent - stop at a remote lake for a swim, see the coast, the interior, - just excellent.
Food was disappointing - by the sea yet very few served seafood that focused on the seafood - the focus seemed to be on having as many flavours as possible

It is an adventure type of trip.
It is an adventure type of trip. Huge trees, beaches are amazing, views, sunsets, and it has a feel of being a long ways away from just another tourist trap. The drive in is long and winding and you have to be really careful. Try to not arrive after dark as the highway has many tight curves that add to the risk. It is a fantastic getaway though, and the effort to get there and back is worth it. Try to stop at a few of the rest stops or parks along the way as they are really worth it.
The location is excellent and right on South Chesterman/Cox Bay beach. Accommodation is modern and clean with comfortable beds and amenities. Onsite are two places to get great food, and the resort is very close to other restaurants including Browns Socialhouse. The resort grounds include fire pits, barbeque pits, scenic view benches, walking paths and saunas. The resort is located just a few minutes away from Tofino itself, and a short drive to the other main beaches. This has become my favourite spot to stay when I am out that way.
The location was perfect, walking distance to most places in Tofino. We arrived during the heat wave and they had fans turned on to keep the room cooler before our arrival. The room is very spacious, with a kitchen that was very useful during our stay and there is a large balcony with a great view of the sunset during summer. They provide free parking. The staff provided a lot of information about the accommodation and Tofino before our arrival. They also informed about the road closures that we needed to be aware.
The room was so spacious yet cozy, the hydro-massage tub in the bathroom was perfect to warm up after being outdoors in the cool Tofino weather.
Maria and her father in-law were excellent hosts, extremely accommodating, very nice and friendly. Lovely people :)
Daily home-made breakfast was vast and delicious. Hands-down the best option we could ever found.
I am looking forward to our next time in Tofino and will definitely book again this accommodation.
When we checked in they said they had given us the best room, and they weren't joking! The view is stunning. The room was comfortable and clean, why a coffee maker and fridge. A balcony overlooking the water is the perfect way to unwind, and the location was perfect for a short stroll to dinner or breakfast.
Staff were professional and friendly, even offering beach towels for our convenience.
I’ve stayed at the venerable Schooner Motel several times over the past 30 years. It’s a Tofino institution. It’s in a great part of town, within walking distance of sights and restaurants. It has plenty of free parking. Staff/owners are very pleasant and accommodating. The room I had was nice and clean with a very comfortable bed.
Incredibly clean, comfortable and cozy! My partner and I stayed here for four nights and can't wait to stay here again. So many perks to staying here - from the unlimited coffee to the ocean views! The staffing team were exceptional and very attentive. The history of the hostel (first hotel in Tofino in 1930!) is an extra bonus.
We stayed here mid-week and it was great! The room was stunning and clean with a beautiful view. The lounge area was nice and the breakfast was delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Tofino. Close to the town and a short walk from the beach.
.Great studio for a three night stay, spacious and comfortable. Good location close to a small complex with a fantastic takeaway.
Harold, the owner, was incredibly supportive and helpful, providing us with lots of useful information about Tofino and the surrounding area.
The customer service was excellent! Super accommodating and friendly staff.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights and we had the best breakfast in the hotel.
We were so happy we are allowed to bbq infront of our suit too.
Location is great, value for money isn’t bad! Our room was decently sized and the best part was your stay includes gym access which was a huge bonus for us.
Cabins are really good, good size and clean. This beach is the best one in Tofino. Loved the wood fireplace, they provided wood. Overall stay was very good.
