What a beautiful little hotel, totally in keeping with the old town of Trujillo. A beautiful little courtyard houses their restaurant. Absolutely superb ambiance. The room was perfectly suitable, if a little on the small side. The bathroom was nice, great water pressure! The bidet stopped the door from opening past 90 degrees, making it a bit small, but again, perfectly adequate.
The staff were very friendly, always actively greeting you. All in all, a wonderful stay.

The building was an amazing historic building, I felt as though I was staying in a museum! The gardens were very interesting too but being early in the season needed a little tidying and the pool was not ready for use. Set high up in Trujillo it yielded great views on the way back after eating evening meal in the town centre.

The property is just of the main square in Montanchez and easy to find using Google Maps, when walking. The streets in Montanchez are narrow, however, but the main square can be reached by car to drop off the bags and then to park at either church or at the cemetery. The property has a number of rooms at ground level and upstairs and there is a restaurant downstairs although this was not open for our visit and we had breakfast in the main square. The room was spotless, comfortable with a walk-in shower with hot water. The wi-fi worked fine when searching the internet and for making payments. The room was quiet both internally and externally. The castle is only a ten minute walk uphill from the property.
