San Sebastian is a famous beach resort in the north of Spain with picturesque coastline, vibrant nightlife and amazing Basque gastronomy.
Playa de la Concha is one of the world’s most popular city beaches, ideal for watersports lovers. Rent a surfboard on Zurriola beach or just relax on a cosy lounge chair under your umbrella.
Established as the culinary capital of Spain, San Sebastian features a variety of bars and restaurants serving delicious pintxos (Basque-style tapas), fresh seafood and fine wine. According to Spanish tradition, you should have one tapa and a wine in one bar, then move on to the next bar.
The tree-covered hill standing just across the gulf is called Urgull and offers spectacular views over the bay and city. Situated at the bottom of it, Parte Vieja is the old part of the town where you can mix with the locals and visit some of the city’s most interesting historical attractions.

There are restraints nearby where you can eat delicious Pinchos, so it was quite easy to get to. It was incredibly quiet from night to morning. Yes, there was no noise at all. I never once felt like I was in an unsafe place. Next time I'll try taking the bus.

San Sebastian is really a great city for views: you have 2 mountains accessible on foot with great views on the bay (concha), the city and the ocean. There is also nice architecture (Art Nouveau), a great basque history/art museum (San Telmo) and a maritime museum with an aquarium. And there is a great beach for surfing (Zurriola). Parks and beaches are beautiful. Food at some bars and restaurants is phenomenally good! I didn’t have time to visit museums, but I expect they are up to the quality of other aspects of public life. The city is pretty and clean. The food is excellent and varied leaning heavily to sea food. It is easy enough to walk around, there is taxi service for some of the attractions not downtown e.g. the stadium. Let me say, however, it is not as inexpensive as other places in Spain. Food can be pricey, especially some of the sampling meals in the restaurants. My Spanish is pretty okay, but, believe me Basque is not at all similar, fortunately, most menus, etc. are written in Spanish, French and English as well. Beautiful city with amazing beaches, charming architecture, tons of amazing spots for pintxos, and a laid-back vibe. Public buses worked fine and there were taxis readily available during the day, but it's small enough to walk almost anywhere.

Loved San Sebastian and will return. Apartment was really well placed for the beach - pity we didn't see there was beach chairs till we were packing to leave. Very spacious and airy and good for drying clothes in the little courtyard - could have done with having some info leaflets about SS. We took a boat to the island and the atmosphere there was amazing - I would definitely recommend!

The room was very smart and comfortable, modern and new. The hotel has been ingeniously created out of a very small space, with hidden parking below the building. The location is right next to the old town with 100s of restaurants and poncho bars, and also right next to La Concha beach. Amazing!

We got a parking space across the road for our hire car and walked into town which took about 20 minutes. The hotel gave us advice on how to get back and we caught a bus which stopped very close by. The room was comfortable with large twin beds and a balcony. Breakfast was good and the service excellent. I even scrounged hot water and cups to make tea from the bar area when the hotel had run out of kettles to lend.
