Utterly charming house with a delightful studio at the back in which we stayed. It’s situated with a view of the slightly overgrown and ramshackle garden. The owner was on hand to answer all our questions and extremely welcoming. She asked us just before we left if we might stay again and I’d be very surprised if we didn’t. An unusual and pleasant experience and absolutely in the centre of the town opposite the covered market and yet, as the studio was well inside the property, completely quiet.

Nothing at all. We did not stay, the room we were offered was up 3 flights of stairs, dark and dingy. The room was probably Fashionable in 1900, but not livable in 2023. We had no option but to move on!!
It is a real shame that Booking.com can’t check what they are advertising, even the Tourism Office did not know where this “Hotel” was

A very beautiful and renovated old farm by a 16th century castle, in a very quiet countryside setting, with many things to visit not far away. Liked the fact that there was breakfast included.

We stayed here to attend a wedding in the Château de Basché.
Sonia was a wonderful host and lives in the building just next to the gite; she made sure we had everything we needed, and had thought of the little touches. Sonia had even left us some local produce such as lemonades and shortbread, which was fabulous after a long journey.
The gite was bigger than in the photos. Clean, spacious, and bright. It is also silent and peaceful - perfect for an excellent night's sleep.
The pool is indoors and shared.
We would highly recommend as a remote stay, and excellent value for money.

Once you have found the hotel (not straight forward!)
Once you have found the hotel (not straight forward!) this is the most delightful place to stay. The room was beyond my expectations and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I was able to eat an evening meal at a restaurant around the corner. Richelieu is an interesting town and worth visiting but also the Loire chateaux are very nearby - Chinon, Fontevraud, so many to choose from, and vinyards.

This was an overnight stop on a journey southwards.
This was an overnight stop on a journey southwards. Richelieu is a fascinating place, with a walled town and an extensive park to explore. Lovely to walk around, though probably one day, possibly two, would be sufficient to see everything. We did find that in the centre of the town, on a weekday evening at the beginning of October, eating options were limited: it looks as though the choice would be good in the busier seasons. It is accessible from the Loire at Saumur and the A10 at Châtellerault, and worth a visit.
I love old, historical buildings and this B&B certainly provided that. One of the historical buildings in Richelieu entered by a huge gate once used for horses and carriages! The suite is amazing with an eclectic mix of antique and modern fitments. Perfect place for a lone traveller and I felt completely safe and tranquil here. Breakfast was traditional continental breakfast - plenty of it and freshly made coffee, taken in the beautiful salon that boasts antique furniture and original features of an old maison! Will definitely stay again!
Great place for a short stay in the centre of Richelieu. Charming authentic property set in a courtyard off the Grande Rue. Comfortable and peaceful. Parking was easy and free in the street or in the nearby square. We took road bikes and cycled a number of the quiet roads into the countryside and also the (approx) 20km traffic-free disused railway to visit historic Chinon. Our hostess, Catherine, was excellent, welcoming and knowledgeable.
Great location in the centre of the town. Hotel was clean and staff spoke good enough English for us to get by with our pigeon French. It was super hot when we arrived and our bedrooms were very warm at the back of the hotel. Desk fans were supplied. Breakfast was a good continental buffet style. Parking outside the front of the hotel in the square. Few little restaurants and bars dotted around.
Excellent, quirky stay at this lovely historic house. If you want modern and shiny, this is not for you. If you want to stay in a beautifully kept slice of French history in the centre of Richelieu then look no further. The room was large and quiet with a comfortable bed. Ensuite shower room was good. The breakfast was majestically served and delicious. Would stay again.
The welcome to the building is unique, entering through a street door and stairway which look decrepit, but at the top opened into paradise. The apartment is bright and modern, and very well equipped. With a boulangerie within a 2 minute walk, and being in the centre of the old character full town of Richelieu, this apartment was a delight.
A pleasant annexe in a residential street, which felt safe and secure. Owner was friendly and helpful on arrival. For a budget price we expected fairly basic accommodation, and the bed and chairs could be more comfortable. The kitchenette was well equipped. The location was excellent for walking into Richelieu.
I have been to this hotel many times before and have always enjoyed my stay. Management changes, but it always seems to retain a vey high standard. It’s easy to find and handy for the beautiful park and walks round the town. Delightful Staffa day I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Everything about this Logis, beautiful location, easy parking directly outside hotel. Lovely friendly helpful staff, nice clean room and very good restaurant. Will always stay there en route to Caen. Richelieu is a beautiful town, too.
Absolutely perfect stay at Le Ragois. Beautiful decor in a large well appointed room. Deluxe bathroom with best shower we’ve encountered. Nice, fresh breakfast offerings. Hostess was very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend!
Fantastic location right in the center of Richelieu. Beautiful room with airing balcony and well stocked bathroom. Large, comfortable bed. Good and fresh breakfast offerings. Very welcoming hostess. Enjoyable stay.
Fascinating historic building with appropriate fittings and decorations. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and a great source of information on Richelieu - an extraordinary town.
