    I visited St.

I visited St. Sauveur to see the writer Colette's house and visit the museum dedicated to her, but I was unprepared for how much I would want to remain. Although somewhat difficult to travel to (unless one has a car), it is so worth it! The Wednesday market sells fresh vegetables grown, and fresh cheeses made, in the area. There are several incredible booksellers and galleries. The town is quite picturesque and walkable, with many 18th century homes, the museums, and the castle that is being restored using ancient techniques and processes. Above all, the locals are welcoming.

Perfect for somewhere to stay after visiting the chateau...

Perfect for somewhere to stay after visiting the chateau fort they are building at Guédelon. Quiet town to wander around apart from the swalllows. Lovely bakery. Friendly host in the B and B. Didn’t get to sample the local lake or food as we ate in our accommodation but looked good from the outside.

Small village perfectly situated for the trip to Guedelon...

Small village perfectly situated for the trip to Guedelon castle. People were very friendly and talkative. There is a small convenience shop and a couple of good restaurants for those needing an evening meal. There is also a museum dedicated to the famous French writer Collette, worth a visit, and various art and crafts events take place throughout the year.
