The room was very clean, modern, well maintained with lots of details thought about. The house was set behind but visible from the shops lining the main high street, so traffic noise was not an issue. There was a complimentary bottle of spring water, a range of hot drinks and biscuits, secure lockable double-glazed windows, which you could open to allow fresh air in, and a huge range of television channels including Netflix. There was a clear notice on the back of the door giving one the password for free WiFi. I liked having a work desk with comfortable upright chair.

My attraction to Barnet is Oak Hill College, where friends are studying for their degrees in Theology. Barnet itself has nice cafes and restaurants and is a relatively safe and quiet area with easy access to London and Heathrow.

There is a main street within a short walk if you need to get any supplies; there seems to be a pretty good variety of eateries too, although we did not visit any on this visit. While across London with an hour and a half journey, having Heathrow and Cockfosters on the Picadilly Underground (tube) line meant a no change trip from the airport. Brooklyn House is about a ten minute walk to the tube and then about a 30 minute trip into Central London. Further it is on the bus route to the station with the bus stop over the road. The Cockfosters village is about a ten minute walk providing the essentials with a great baker shop.EmersonAustralia
