The apartment is in the rear of the building, and private parking was right by the door to the building. We had a van and there was plenty of space. The stairs are inside the building, and are not narrow or steep. We walked to ASDA to buy dinner and breakfast food. The oven heats quickly, so keep an eye on it. The owner met us at the building. He was easy to contact, answered all of our questions, and was very helpful. The shower had great water pressure and heated up quickly.

We were traveling on May 5th for an event in Cardiff and the hotel was ideally situated for either driving in or ordering an Uber. Best of all, the room prices hadn't been inflated because of the event. The staff were very helpful and friendly and Check in was a breeze. The three rooms were perfect for our requirements and well presented. Unfortunately we didn't have chance to sample the food as we were leaving on the morning of the 6th which was bank holiday Monday. I'm not sure whether the restaurant wasn't open for breakfast because of the bank holiday or whether it doesn't open on Mondays. I would definitely recommend the Wingfield Hotel as a nice stopover for anyone visiting the area.

Location was exactly what we wanted, room was very ok, exceptionally clean and beautiful size room, staff in bar were lovely. We were very disappointed that the bar closed at 8pm, the nature of our journey ment we were back at around 8pm and was very much looking forward to having a few drinks. We did manage just to get a couple of drinks that we were Able to have in our room but it wasn’t the same. We would have liked more teabags and coffee and loo rolls put into our room daily but no one appeared to top them up.

We were only here for a night but needed to go in the town for breakfast. There were plenty of places to eat, a cinema and shops. We liked the facilities and would visit again. There are lots of lovely places around to drive to within a reasonable time, such as Caerphilly Castle and Cardiff.

McKenzies cafe. they do the best food in the area, breakfast to die for, staff are soooooo nice and polite. They were so helpful in sorting out a "Takeout" for the journey home. Parking (at the time) was free, behind the main street (coming in off the roundabout 50 yards on the right, sharp right). Asda, drive past (on your right) about half a mile, turn right, half a mile back to the shop ?? Nice cinema.

Blackwood is a small town with the main road holding most of the pubs, restaurants and shops, so easy to get around. There is plenty of parking in the town including a Lark car park if you do some shopping in ASDA......Also good for the lowest cost fuel in the area.
If you want fast food, there is a KFC, Domino's, MacDonalds, Papa John's, Fish and Chips, Subway's, plus more.
I like to eat at Red Chilli Indian, Bistro 8, Amici and The Black Prince Pub.
Great location with beautiful views, Food was to a really good standard with the exception of the steak and ale pie (steak was a little tough) but everything else on the plate was good. The room I had 104 was a little dated and the poor Wi-Fi made it difficult to carry out emails etc. but the bed was extremely comfortable. Really liked having use of the facilities and would recommend the hotel to others.
Very friendly staff. Room was lovely, everything really clean, bed was comfy. Went for the rugby. Good location. 10 min drive to station with taxi and then got a taxi home from Cardiff centre for £50 but between 4 of us was great. Very cheap accommodation compared to city prices, especially on match day. Photos of room doesn't do it justice. It was really nice!
This hotel is dated - it's tired and worn. The shower cubicle was uncomfortably small. However, the room was cheap so I didn't feel I'd been ripped off. It was adequate for the one night's stay. I will stay with them again soon, when I need the room for 3 nights. The receptionist was a nice lady.
The whole apartment is very well decorated, super spacious and comfortable, just what we needed! Rob was excellent in organising for the key to be given to us.
Good location if you're willing to drive after attending a concert in Cardiff and If you want to avoid the extremely high prices in the city.
Beautiful hotel and location. Obviously used for weddings, sue to its opulence, the exterior is grand and the interior original and historic. The restaurant dinner was delicious, and the breakfast (optional) was plentiful!
The location was a little way out from Blackwood, but a pleasant walk.
The room was superb and very clean.
The staff were exceptional and very helpful, we would definitely stay there again.
Nice place. Nice pub good pint good prices. Rooms ok clean and tidy. Staff were great. Price was good.
Would stay again.
Had to cancell a room last min staff were great about it.
The hotel is in a great location and ha excellent facilities.
Room was well appointed, comfortable bed and a good shower.
Dinner was good with plenty of choice.
