The room was large and airy, it felt clean and there were lots of little details that made this room feel homely. The bar staff who showed me to my room was really friendly and explained everything in detail.

We came for the potteries but unfortunately didn't book ahead so didn't realise it wasn't open till the Wednesday so missed it. Also couldn't get into Emma Bridgewaters so only did the wedgewood. But the hotel was excellent, the Upper House so will be coming back.

We went to Alton Towers which was great but extremely expensive and very crowded so only managed 3 rides, due to the queing times.
Didn't really see much more of Stoke apart from our hotel, which was very nice.

As previously stated - there was nothing positive in the slightest. However, on reading some other reviews (wish I’d read them before booking) it was reassuring to see similar comments and photographs. As for those people giving it 9/10 and 10/10 reviews are either from the hotel, or being paid to write a totally dishonest review. The place is desperate…and no matter how you try to dress it up - it is not fit for purpose and should be removed from booking.com

My husband chose the holiday.
My husband chose the holiday. I booked the hotel and its location as I was born in Stoke on Trent. It was near to Wedgwood World and other attraction we wanted to visit. The area has changed vastly since I lived there and we relied on a Satnav to get around by car. We stayed for 4 nights. On the last day we visited Trentham gardens shopping centre which was well worth the visit. However, we spent more time there and didn't get to see the gardens which were done by Capability Brown. The swimming pool we used to visit when I was a child was long gone and I would have been interested to visit the gardens. We would stay in this hotel again due to its convenient location.. Stoke on Trent is the 'Potteries'. It's industrial era cam to a close in the 20th century with its coal mines closes, pottery firms moved out and the Shelton steel works closed down. I haven't lived there for over 50 years and it was good to come back to see the town is still thriving. I did not visit the Stadium or Regent Theatre. I did visit Moorcroft and Middleton potteries. We would have visited Gladstone pottery but it was closed.

A wet gloomy day, we met great friendly people, at the bus stop, close to Holiday Inn.
Locals chatted and were most helpful.
Town was quiet, we were not interested in shopping.
Walked through the market,indoors.
The best coffee in the centre of town, served by friendly professional staff.
Bus driver back to hotel was very friendly.
A great visit.
Breakfast was hot anyway enjoyable for the hot selection, although we had no mushrooms throughout our stay and ran out of hashbrowns after only 1 Breakfast service, leaving two without either options. I eat a veggie hot breakfast so was a little disappointed. Your continental selection was fabulous. Staff were second to none. I normally stay at premier inn, and it was my first experience with the group. Let's just say I will be switching my hotel prefetence to Holidsy Inn/Express.
This place is tucked away in a housing estate which seemed odd at first but its location is right next to the cricket club and the room look out onto the pitch which is fabulous. The hotel rooms were very clean and nicely decorated and the staff made sure our family we were in adjacent rooms. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly. It was a great location for our activities in Stoke like Waterworld and Bowling etc. We had a great stay!
Our room was simple, clean and comfortable, just what we wanted. The staff were all wonderful and couldn't be more helpful. They certainly went the extra mile! The food was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and couldn't fault anything! Breakfast was amazing too! We would definitely return to the Borough Arms Hotel!
I've been staying at this hotel when visiting Stoke-On-Trent for 17 years. The rooms have always been clean, the staff go to extra levels to make sure you feel comfortable and welcome. It's really great value for money considering that the other hotels in the area are double or triple the price.
I won't stay at another hotel personally.
Beautiful period property, saddlery in need of repair, updating as loads of wallpaper and ceiling paper is coming down due to damp, it’s a shame because in it’s hey day it was a very classy and superior hotel and venue. extremely busy hotel. due to its location near to the Railway Station and Stoke, Shelton and Hanley Park
This is nice hotel to stay and wonderful location you can easily go to town. The bus stop is near your hotel .The management system is very well specially the name of the person sujoy is very nice person.Sujoy help me and guide me very nicely
All of the ceramic touches made it uniquely a hotel in Stoke-on-Trent. We loved the availability of all of the ceramic picture books and the molds and vases and pottery used in the Lobby decor. That was a highlight.
Everything; beds were comfy, all appliances worked, nothing missing, all was clean.
Had a lot of fun in the pub next door, which was surprisingly full considering the location of the hotel.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful or kind - nothing was too much for anyone.
This is a cheaper hotel of course but the communal areas were comfortable and the rooms were fine 😊
I didn't have a breakfast .I was told that they did 'nt do them at the hotel. I also didn't get the use of any wi- fi ; I was told that you had to request it at the reception !
Clean , tidy and looks fantastic, happy it was in stoke city centre , which was lovely to see , and not too far away from Train station , and would stop again
Good location within walking distance of a designer outlet, retail park and Hanley town Centre. The hotel carpark was literally a 30 second walk to the Hotel.
Was decent and good price. Location is next to Lidl and Sainsbury's. Also next to fast food places and barber shops. 20min walk from Stoke station too.
