Kinsale is a cute little town. Beware. Not easy to drive in. Good place to spend a few days.We used it as a base for going to Mizen head, Baltimore and other places south of Cork. Also note, and this is very common in Ireland, don't get up a the crack of dawn and expect to find a place open for breakfast. A few opened at 8 but more often opened at 9 and even 10. Earlier than 9 were few and far between. Those that are tend to be crowded for obvious reasons.

It was disastrous, my wife decided to go down the town for a walk around as she was walking she noticed foreigners watching her every move and they then started to pair up and follow her, she felt so threatened that she had to go into spar shop and wait for me to collect her. Would never visit there again.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away. There are several excellent restaurants where you will have unforgettable experiences. The Black Pig and Finns Farmcut are amazing. Breakfast can be hit or miss, The Lemon Leaf and OHK were excellent. If the weather allows the walk out to Charles Fort is lovely, with a pint of Murphy’s at the Bulmans. The views at the Old Head of Kinsale are breathtaking, and Garretstown Beach is stunning. The tour and tasting at Kinsale Mead is fascinating and a unique highlight. Be careful choosing where to stay, as standards are not reflected by star ratings, and the centre can be noisy. Parking is challenging with two hour max at the central car park, better at SuperValu but you’ll need to move your car overnight.

We arrived later in the evening but were welcomed wonderfully. If you drive to the hotel, know that parking is only what you find on the street. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was nice. There isn't an elevator available so if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, be prepared to pull your bags up the stairs. Be sure to book a paid breakfast with your room reservation. It was soooo good and one of the best meals we had in 2 weeks. A good breakfast gave us the energy to tackle a busy day. Kinsale is a lovely town and even mid-week on a foggy fall day, we loved walking around.

Stunning proactive service - I asked for vegan breakfast options and was then contacted by the hotel to ask for my specific needs - which were met beyond expectations, fantastic individual breakfast. Rooms are very well spaced and with everything you might need. Comfy beds, very quiet, parking directly in front, excellent walking distance to center. As a regular hotel guest, I found this hotel really special in service, feeling welcome and facilities.

nice clean bright room. We overlooked a childrens playground which was quite noisy. The location is brilliant, and can walk to the centre in a few minutes. On the night of arrival we didnt eat out. There was a chipper a couple of doors up (Dino's) Would go back just for their fish and chips. Weather was lovely. We had a wedding in the Trident Hotel, which was on the doorstep so a very enjoyable experience in Kinsale.

The hotel has a very unique character that you seldom see. Rooms are cozy and have all the essentials. The hostess was very welcoming and told us about all the best pubs and restaurants. The parking in Kinsale is very difficult, so having a few parking spots on site was very convenient, especially for tourists. I look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Ireland!

The location was pretty close to downtown Kinsale and the views were fantastic! The room was spacious, as well as the bathroom and the fact that it had a tub was a huge plus for me. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with helping with transportation in and out of town. The grounds were huge and had some nice walking trails. The restaurant and bar were great.

The location is fantastic for exploring Kinsale and the hotel is right by the water. Room was very clean and house keeping came every day during our stay. Nice breakfast and staff at breakfast were friendly. Although there is no pool/spa at the hotel we were able to use the pool/jacuzzi at Actons hotel with no issue, which is a very short walk away.

Great space if you are travelling with kids, gives you freedom to be able to relax with it out having the kids confined to a hotel room. Location is great as you are a short walk to some of the best restaurants Kinsale has to offer. The owner Michael was great to deal with and very helpful. My family and I will definitely be returning

Ann was the best hostess we have ever had the pleasure of staying with. That seems like a simple answer…. But she is exceptional. Second time in Kinsale, stayed in a beautiful high end hotel the first time with no complaints but I would come back to Pier Side again over the pricier hotel, no questions asked!
