The cottage was nicely decorated and reasonably well appointed for a self-catering stay.
The location was perfect for exploring the Reykjanes Peninsula by car and was about 10 minutes’ drive from the large supermarkets of Keflavik.
It was very peaceful and close to the lovely walking trail to the lighthouse.

Gardur is a small town ... with a wonderful Lighthouse that is very photogenic ... no traffic ... no crowds. Gardur is a very limited for restaurants and other services ... but an excellent choice if you want to explore the Reykjanes Peninsula ... and close to the airport.

For me, the Garður Apartments were ideal: there was a kitchen area to prepare food (because there are no nearby restaurants), the area was quiet except for calling birds, and I enjoyed walking to lighthouse that is about 20 minutes' walk away. Hotel is relatively short drive to the airport, good if you are using it for the last night and have a early flight next morning, but far away from Reykjavik and other touristy places. Nice and friendly staff in reception and restaurant, they prepared us lovely breakfast boxes to go, as we left early in the morning (before breakfast started)
