The lodge is on a lovely farm about 10 minutes driving outside Vik. The women at check-in was very kind and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfortable. There is a sitting area outside the rooms in case you want more space, and a separate kitchen building with a fridge for all guests. There was parking right outside the main building, and it was overall a very each process to check-in and check-out! This place served as a great home-base as we explored the south coast. I only wish we'd spent more time exploring the property!

My stay at Vestri Peturse was fantastic. The cottage is situated in a serene rural setting, offering a true Icelandic countryside experience. It was well-equipped, comfortable, and had a charming rustic feel. The highlight was definitely the proximity to natural attractions right from the property. The hosts were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Friendly host and beautiful surroundings. Safe and quiet
Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse is a cozy and lovely country house. We asked to give us a room with a mountain view, and the very friendly host gave us a room with beautiful windows with soothing views. We also had dinner there and every course was delicious and homemade. Same with the good and plentiful breakfast. At night we saw our first Northern Lights in Iceland and this place will remain in our hearts for that. For me it is a 10.
The staff was super nice. We really appreciated that there is a possibility to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant, as the location is, honestly, pretty much in the middle of nowhere (this is not a con, we were looking for that kind of place!). The room was clean and comfortable for the two of us. The location was ideal for visiting the black sand beach, as you can be there before the crowds start arriving.
We had a Great stay in Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse. The room was nice and clean. Timeless atmosphere and good position close to Reynisfjara Beach. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both very good and rich with local products (they have animals and Vegetable in the farm). The staff was friendly and helpful (the owner speaks italian perfectly 😉). The best stay in our trip! Really recommended!
We stayed at 11 different properties during our trip to Iceland and this location was among my favorites. The design of the room was thoughtful and what made this property very comfortable was a shared kitchen/lounge that was furnished with anything that would be needed to make a quick meal/snack. The hotel was very clean and the continental breakfast was good.
I'd say this was the best place we stayed while in Iceland. The staff was great- kind and accommodating.
We stayed in the guest house with a common area which was a nice change of pace. It was homey and had lots of information about Iceland, board games, and a little kitchenette.
The complimentary breakfast was good and some homemade items included.
Beautiful location underneath the glacier. Sheep in the fields. Very bucolic and close to Vik area sites (Solheimatunga glacier, Dyrholaey viewpoint, Reynisfjara black sand beach etc.) Amazing cleanliness, and wonderful meal made from local farm ingredients. Wonderful breakfast. Also, for dinner try the Icelandic lamb raised on the farm! So good.
We enjoyed our stay at Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse. The breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and big enough for us and our luggage. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided each day. Towels, linen and a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash were provided. You could adjust the room and washroom heating to a temperature you desired.
Last minute accommodation due to Iceland's storms.
Very comfortable and well equipped.
Roos on the guest house have access to a common room and kitchenette.
Great to have a private ensuite.
Room was well equipped with a comfortable lounge chair and table.
Breakfast was superb.
Setting of the guest house is gorgeous, even in the snow drifts
A great location for visiting the southern part of Iceland. It was also nice to be able to have dinner available here after a long day of touring and the food was delicious! Loved the barn converted into cozy rooms and the sitting area was a great place to hang out with other travelers and chat about our day.
Beautiful place. Remote but yet close to Vik. Good base to explore other places like Skaftafell, Jokusarlon...
Comfortable rooms. Very clean. Although the bathrooms were shared, it didn't feel shared at all. The staff were friendly and the dinner was just yum!
Highly recommend. We miss this place already!
We liked the location on the south coast of Iceland. It was between places that we were planning to visit. Our room was very spacious and we had a great view of the farm. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm.
