Friendly stuff. 5 minutes away from Mestre. Cosy atmosphere. Nice smell in a hall.
With stylish contemporary design, NH Venezia Laguna Palace is set in 2 buildings, linked together by a transparent glass roof. A marina is also available.

Amazing staff on the 24 hour reception. They arranged a shuttle from and to the airport which made the transfer stress free.
24 hour bar to make up for there not being a kettle in the room - personally, I preferred someone else making a better coffee/tea than I would have in the the room.
The breakfast was lovely and extremely cheap.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was clean. The balcony with a table and chairs made a lovely addition to the room, especially first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
The bus stop is right outside the hotel which made getting to and from Venice a breeze. Bus tickets are available from reception.
For anyone moaning about there not being any restaurants near to the hotel, either eat when in Venice before returning or order a delivery from Just Eat, there are plenty of restaurants on there which deliver to the hotel.
This hotel is much cheaper than one in the heart of Venice and it is so easy to travel to and from. The buses stop around 6pm then there is a rail service from the station 10 minutes walk away.
Highly recommend this hotel.
Stay in the heart of the Marghera district in the 3-star Hotel Vienna, only 200 meters from Venezia Mestre Train Station. Choose from one of Hotel Vienna’s 63, en suite rooms.

I'd never stayed that side of the lagoon/bridge before. Finding a single, reasonable room in Venice was difficult in May. A 100m walk to the 6/6L/66 bus stop and a €1.50 fare (on the app) gets you in to Piazzale di Roma in 10mins (no stops). Cheaper and quicker than a €9.50 vaporetto ride in Venice!
I got a double en-suite with bath, TV, Aircon, for half the cost of a single box with shared bathroom, not including breakfast, in San Marco district. As it turned out I was really quite pleased not to be wending my way through busy dimly lit viale and calle to a hotel or competing for caffe e croissant at the best espresso bars.
Breakfast was standard self-service buffet selection. Quality: what you'd expect for a 3*. The juices were from concentrate and a bit watery. Cooked meats, sliced cheeses, pastries, cereals, toaster/preserves/honey, coffee machine, fresh fruit, boiled eggs.
I ate one evening in the restaurant; there's a separate review for that on Google 🤮 but I don't hold that against the hotel (I understand it's a franchise?) I was happy to eat in Venice and get a bus after dusk as there's nothing much to do in the Marghera area.
Receptionists were consistently very helpful, with good English.
There was a small safe. Plenty of white towels (refreshed daily if required), crisp white cotton sheets. There is a summer bed cover, but a winter weight one is available in the wardrobe. Both of my bedside lamps were out, but it didn't bother me enough to remember to say anything.
