A beautiful hotel, old school Hollywood glam with its film festival connections, and an amazing location right on the beach. Stunning views from our sea view room, lovely size room, spacious and very clean. The pool and terrace areas are beautiful, lots of space and places to relax. Food is great, all of the staff around the hotel are super helpful and friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Breakfast is plentiful and eating outside is a great way to start the day. The free boat service to and from Venice is an excellent perk of the stay, the boats are beautiful and it’s magical to pull into San Marco or back to the hotel dock. There really is no where else to stay if you’d like some relaxing time as well as a city break. We’ll definitely return!

Spanning 11 kilometres between the Adriatic Sea and one of the most famous lagoons in the world, Lido is a narrow and long island located just in front of Venice’s Old Town. Beach resorts, hotels and private villas replaced the vegetable gardens 160 years ago that provided tranquil settings for poets and writers like Lord Byron and Thomas Mann.
Probably one of the first beach resorts in the world, its first facility opened in 1857 and soon became a success. Nowadays, it constitutes a peaceful suburb that claims its golden past once a year during the Film Festival, and offers a quieter setting for your accommodation than central Venice.
There are actually three different villages on the island. Lido itself is located in the north, and includes most of the hotels and the Venice Casino. The smaller Malamocco and Alberoni are situated to the centre and south respectively. The sea-facing side of Lido Island is a succession of sandy beaches, mostly belonging to different resorts and hotels.
Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta is the island’s main street, leading from the ‘vaporetto’ water bus pier to the sea. There are buses running on the island, while direct waterbus links to Venice Marco Polo Airport are also available.

Lido is a great place to base yourself from if you want to visit Venice. It offers easy access to the city and the nearby islands (Murano, Burano, etc.), but it is relaxed and quiet compared to the overly-touristed Venice, so it's lovely to come back to Lido after a hectic day of tourist activities. We didn't take advantage of the beach, but we could have if we had built in more time.

Make sure you are told if the season had started we were not told, everywhere was closed til June so with lots of extra expence we had to change flights and book hotels in the city
We were totally disgusted with the whole holiday and wished we had never booked to go to the Lido and Residence la Fontaine, never again

Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year.
Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year. She'd stayed in lots of areas. Great choice ! The island was quieter, cleaner, cheaper and not so busy. It was lovely to walk around, trees, flora and fauna, churches , lots of shops and restaurants. Short stroll to a beautiful beach. Amazing sunsets, with all those views. Picture perfect. We used a three day vaporetta pass to get around. We were two stops away from main part of Venice, where we got off to explore. Four stops to San Marco, quick and easy. Longer trips to Murano, which was worth a visit...free to get into the glass factory on a Wednesday and the airport was a 45 minute ride, but easily done.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The space was quaint and perfectly located away from the crazy busy hub that is Venice. It was a 5 minute walk to the laundromat, where you could have a drink nearby at a bar while you waited. Another 5 minute walk and you were at the beach. Lots of eateries, shops, bars and way less people.

Very close to the buzzing city of Venice (only minutes by Vaporetto) but away from all the noise and crowded streets. Perfect place to relax in the evening. Very nice restaurants, B&Bs and even a beach where you can sunbath and swim. We used to stay in Venice but now we always stay here.

Feels like a typical Italian village, but it's only a ten minute boat ride to piazza San Marco. It's quiet, but elegant. The bars and restaurants I tried - on the main boulevard and along the canal - were excellent.
The position of the hotel is wonderful. On a very quite island with a lot of local restaurants and bars - both luxurious and inexpensive. Safe heaven from loud Venice. 5 min walking to a private beach, 15 min to a public beach. Easy commute on buses to reach water tram or local supermarket. 15 min takes with a river tram to reach Venice. Staff is very pleasant, careful and considerate. Cosy breakfast in small canteen had been always the best way to start a day.
Excellent location across from the beach. Hotel has a nice feeling to it. Our room was a little dated but very clean and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was ok, but served in a dining room with a nice outlook over the beach. Staff were really helpful and went out of their way to be helpful. Overall the hotel was good value for money in a good location. I would stay again.
We had a perfect stay. The food was excellent and the staff kind and highly professional. A special shoutout to the kitchen staff. We really enjoyed our meals. There was live music for several of the nights we were there. And the hotel's location is near to a wonderful beach and excellent bus services to other parts of the Lido.
The room was clean and nice, very comfortable and good modern bathroom as well. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. And we were extremely pleased with the breakfast offer and restaurant, very good fresh fish/seafood selection and delicious cooking. Altogether a very good hotel and close to both beach and Vaporetto station.
We absolutely love everything about the hotel, the location is just 10mins water taxi to Venice city, the hotel decor is exceptionally beautiful, the staffs are all nice and welcoming, the beach is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Definitely the best value for money for a 5 star.
We love it! Beautiful, cozy, small authentic hotel next to the beach. Lido is like a paradise, best to rent bikes from the hotel and to explore the island. Personnel in the hotel were very kind and polite. Definitely we will visit again and stay at the same hotel!
A wonderful old world feel to this hotel! Clean and comfortable with great staff. Good buffet style breakfast with several options from fruit and yogurt to pastries and cereal Easy walk from the waterbus station and convenient to the beach.
Clean and stylish rooms, great location if you are ok to stay on Lido island, it’s right on the opposite side of the water bus station. Easy to access from the airport. Price is much lower than similar hotels on the ‘main’ island.
Just lovely, We were given a great room with a terrace and would loved to have stayed an extra night but the hotel was booked. Venice Lido is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Venice and you can swim in the sea.
Excellent breakfast, the hotel was very quiet during our stay, the stuff was friendly and answered all our questions. The price was quite low for Venice. We were very pleased with our stay!
Lovely little hotel - very very friendly staff. They made us early breakfast since we had to check out earlier than breakfast was normally served. Clean room, bathroom and bed.
The hotel is awesome and the staff is lovely. Close walking distance to the beach, nice breakfast and quiet neighbourhood. We are looking forward to staying there again!
