Shikotu Toya National Park is wonderful, so much to see and explore. The onsen at the Grand hotel were amazing, very relaxing. I would have liked to visit the Ainu museum at Shiroai, but we didn't have time. The Cultural exchange centre near Noboribetsu Station was very interesting though, and they had excellent ice creams.

The hot baths, buffet breakfast with many local delicacies and location, being just beside the Hell Valley is worth experiencing. However, pricing may be a bit steep for the size of the room we stayed.

If the weather is good, I would recommend going up the Observatory where one could view the entire Lake Toya.
Not to be missed is the Jigokudani - Hell Valley and must try the onsen there. Very tourist friendly (surprisingly big towels were provided).
There was a nice cafe near Lake Toya which serves very good pizza.

The hometown of Onsen a.k.a the hotspring bath.
The hometown of Onsen a.k.a the hotspring bath. Hotel in here is kinda on the expensive end, it could cost you almost $400-500/night but it you want to have a nice and good experience it's worth it. There's a few tourist attraction but not much but you can take a bus to a 10mnt near town which is more lively, there's also a ninja village which a must visit for a ninja fans, food is good overall and hokkaido is known as a Miso prefecture, drown yourself into a miso ramen nearby and taste a heaven soup breath life into your cold body in winter which is the best time to visit here around dec - feb. definitely would come again next year after the travel ban lifted ^^
Lovely and helpful staff. Most spoke/understood a little English, however one person on staff was very good and was very kind to help us.
Location was perfect in the middle of noboribetsu onsdn with walking distance to Jigokudani.
Food was classic multicourse ryokan menu, mainly different fish.
Our room was spacious and comfortable enough.
Onsen was great with possibility to rent 50 min in private onsen. Both the public and private onsen had indoor and outdoor onsen, so perfect in the snowy weather.
Loved the resort and onsen. The outdoor bath was incredible and we loved the private bath in our room. The hotel is kept very clean, but the private bath in our room had quite a bit of mold everywhere. For such an upscale resort, I was surprised that part wasn't kept cleaner. Walkable to Noboribetsu's major sights--Jigoku Dani and the bear park. We wanted a classic Hokkaido onsen town experience, and Noboribetsu Grand Hotel and this cute little mountain town delivered!
Hotel is super spacious, we have a twin room, new treats given everyday! Also the staff who checked in for us is an intern but really helpful even though she knows little English. Instructions were really clear regarding the onsen, suitable for people who never ever been to an onsen. Souvenir store staff were good too, tries to communicate with us although she spoke little English, - an intern as well.
Comfortable hotel in a a rural setting. The rooms are spacious, a combination of western style beds and a tatami area. The hotel may look a bit dated here and there but that adds to its charm. The onsen is on the top floor, partly on a terrace and worth a visit. Less clear is that the hotel offers a free shuttle service to the airport and to Sapporo. Only once a day, so inquire in advance.
Great location, walking distance to all attractions. Welcoming staff, some spoke English very well. Excellent food for breakfast and dinner, beautifully served. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, WIFI ,air conditioning works well. Free parking across the street. Onsen is good. Love the interior decoration and also the small size of the hotel compared to all the hotels in the area.
Very clean and spacious rooms. Hotel is complete with all amenities including a play arcade for the kids. The onsen was within the hotel with 24/7 access. The onsen is large with several pools and gender segregated.
Best of all, was the location. The hotel was right next to Jigokudani (Hell Valley) with walking distance to Oyunuma, Oyunumagawa natural foot bath and the Bear park.
The onsen wasn't as luxurious as we thought it would be, but we had a good time. Bath was big and hot, with outside and inside variants. I definitely recommend the outside bath on floor 7 on the north building. Hotel even had karaoke rooms and some arcade and crane machines on floor B1. Food was all-you-can eat for both breakfast and dinner, which was really good and plentiful.
Traditional Ryokan with hospitality and service as its main focus. Staff were friendly and helpful, and made accommodations for our dinner even though we arrived quite late due to the heavy rain. Dinner and breakfast were rich, balanced and delicious, and were served in our rooms. Onsen was extremely authentic, with the signature Noboribetsu soupy and sulfurous onsen waters.
The staff cleaned the snow off our luggage and brought it to our room which was clean. They are friendly and provide a nice Ryokan experience. Their English can be hard to understand, but they did their best to communicate and it was good enough for our stay. The food was great and, imo, worth the price. The onsen was soothing and left my skin feeling good.
The service was spectacular.
Every detail of the kaiseki dinner was special, it was in the private room and the access was easy and with privacy.
We got a bedroom with a private onsen. The temperature of the water was perfect.
You have to choose the hour of the dinner and breakfast, then I understood the reason, it was meticulously prepared for you.
The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom however, was too small for our liking. The in-house onsen was great and we enjoyed using it. The hotel is just a few minutes away from restaurants and convenience stores and from the famous "hell valley". We also had access to the grand bath house from the neighbor hotel which was great.
It was centrally located, the Adex Cafe was warm, inviting and served good food, my room was spacious and best of all, guests had access to the grand onsen Daiichi Takimotokan across the street. Wow, so many bathing choices in a lux onsen. Was duly impressed. But I enjoyed the smaller, informal and relaxing vibe at Adex Inn more.
Staffs are friendly, Kaiseki dinner and breakfast are delicious, love the tatami room and bedding, private onsen in the room is big enough to fit two ladies.
Good location, the donan bus stop is just right in front of the property. Hotel is near to Hell Valley and the main street. Overall happy with the stay.
Onsen was fantastic. Room was very spacious. Great location as it is directly in front of the bus stop. Breakfast was good with a wide a right of food. Hotel is well managed.
Beautiful, traditional Japanese rooms with an amazing Onsen! The interior design in the hotel was cool and the staff were very kind to us. It was a nice experience!
It's right next to the station and the staff is really nice! you can rent a bunch of stuff in case you forgot and it's only 20 minutes away from noboribetsu onsen!
