Fabulous location - five minutes' walk from the station, yet right on the edge of the historic centre too. Very good service - we arrived before 1200 and were still able to check-in. A lovely light and very clean room, with a balcony! Excellent bed, very comfortable. I'd say it's excellent value.

The town has three separate areas - one for shopping (big stores), one for shopping (boutiques) and a series of residential roads with restaurants, bed and breakfast establishments, and quaint tree-lined streets. Check out La Casita for great tapas - plus they have rooms which are well-appointed home-from-home bed-and-breakfast style. Parking is at a bit of a premium during the day; but in the evening, street parking is possible as long as you move out before 10h and put a disc between 8 and 10 in marked bays. There are several free parking lots in the area, as well, so it's easy to be lucky, but you might not be right next to your destination. The bonus is that there is a lake a short drive away, with its own waterfront restaurant in a natural park called Vlietland. Plenty of parking, beautiful walks, and easy access to main roads.

Voorschoten is a small town but ideally placed for travelling to The Hague & Amsterdam. We made visits to the castle De Haar near Utrecht which was wonderful & to Haarlem. Voorschoten has a decent shopping area with 2 supermarkets & lots of shops you'd expect to find in a small Dutch town. It is mostly pedestrianised, apart from bicycles of course. There are lots of eateries including an ice cream parlour, Italian restaurant, Tapas bar & several outlets selling Dutch food.

Lots of restaurants and intermingled in a residential area.

Lots of restaurants and intermingled in a residential area. Quite charming. No loud noises and people were very friendly. Breakfast at La Casita was very fresh and very good; our breakfast hostess went out of her way to cater to our extra needs. A plus!!

Cosy little hotel, just few rooms, very calm. Nice breakfast. The town is small, no overcrowding and noise. Beautiful park and channel just round the corner. Several supermarkets nearby. Railway station is in 15 minutes walking from the hotel, all destinations in Netherlands can be reached via it. Bus stop is in 10 minutes walking, there are several bus routes to Leiden and Den Haag. Thanks to Ron for his service and hospitality!

We loved the hotel: the location, the quietness, the friendly receptionist, the architecture, the room size, the built-in furniture, the beds, the big bathroom, the big shower, everything! We didn't have breakfast at Tante Tokkie (opened at 9 a.m.) which the receptionist recommended because we were hungry before 9 a.m. but it looked quite nice.

Voorschoten is flat as a pancake. Excellent for getting about by bike or on foot. Train about 2km walk. Bus 45 about 1km. I was offered a free bike but decided against. A street plan e.g. Google Maps is handy, because there are so many waterways and bridges to negotiate. Windmill is near De Vink.

Beautiful little boutique hotel in a very atmospheric location in a very pretty town. Did not eat there so cannot rate the restaurant but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Would have happily stayed longer and explored the town and surroundings but I was on the move and left after one night.
