We had a fantastic stay (5 nights) at Lala Land Lodge. Frida and Ben are the lovely, super friendly and chilled couple who run this small family eco-lodge located in beautiful surroundings right in front of the sea. The staff is ultra nice and helpful. We especially loved Hawa with her beautiful energy and professionalism. She is pure sunshine. It is a place that is especially suited for those who seek peace and tranquility as it is a bit secluded. We had delicious and very nutritious breakfasts included with our stay and the rest of the food is excellent and the portions generous. The pool is a mix of salt water and fresh water which we found way better than chlorine pools. Note that for the showers and sink it’s the same. But you are provided with buckets of fresh water to rinse. Basically, we highly recommend Kizimkazi and Lala Land Lodge.

A beautiful beach front lodge in the fishing village of Kizimkazi. Perfect for a quiet getaway. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make you comfortable. For its remote location the facilities such as food, accomodation, internet and hot water in the shower were surprisingly good.

This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul!
This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul! It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute.
Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. We look forward to meeting you all again!
PS. A big thanks to Cliffton for recommending us Malaika, We enjoyed it to the fullest ;-)

It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.

The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways.
There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching.
There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price.
Hardly any touting which is nice;
3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

Place was very clean, food was nice and staff were very friendly, always available to assist
They also organized transport for us to travel around
Pete(Rasta man) was very friendly and he gave me some plants to bring to South Africa, I have them in my garden now
Morning shower was terrible, water was always cold and it seemed like their geyser or boiler was faulty
The location and property was the perfect way to end of a 7 day long holiday in beautiful Zanzibar. The Julliete and her colleagues (Neema and the rest of the ladies) catered to all of our needs with a smile on their faces and joy. They offered to do our laundry at no extra charge and helped me plan a romantic private dinner overlooking the ocean for my husband's birthday. The new, modern deco and surroundings is Instagram ready. The food (Malva pudding and Magwinya) reminded us of home (South Africa).
Shani is a wonderful host. A one in a million combination of super relaxed and incredibly attentive. She made our stay SO easy and helped us with literally everything we needed. The property is lovely but I cannot stress enough how great she made our stay and she knows lots of people nearby who can help make your stay here incredible whether it’s food, transport, places to go, recommendations or logistics she is a fountain of knowledge and her and her staff team made our time in Kizimkazi awesome!
This hotel and its staff is amazing, and I can NOT understand some of the negative posts here. Before traveling, those negative comments really dampened our excitement to go there, but they absolutely have no basis.
We had a lovely time, in a beautiful resort, with good food and friendly staff.
Yes, you might find even nicer or maybe newer or more fancy resorts, but then you can easily double the price you pay. We were totally happy and will very likely come back!
Most relaxing place I know on the planet. Locally built, owned an run lodge in a not very developed part of Zansibar. Not for people who wants parties and beach life, but if you're after beautifull surrondings, friendly environment and comfy, relaxing days this place is highly recommended. Food selection is a little limited, room standard is not european, and its about as remote as you get on Zansibar, but none of this matters to me.
Amazing location and value for money. All the surrounding places cost twice as much. The owner was super attentive and helped us find a good captain/low price to go swimming with the dolphins. It was only a 5 minute walk on the beach to get to the boats who would take us. Breakfast was lovely, the view was beautiful, the bed was comfy, overall a really lovely stay.
beautiful place with a homely atmosphere, run by a great multicultural family with good taste and respect :)..kind of at the end of the world :) but it was exactly what we needed at the end of our trip. If we ever have a chance to get in Kizimkazi again, this place will definitely be our choice! Thank you guys! Dzieki za vszystko!!:)
We booked the hotel last minute at 2:00 a.m. and were still able to check in at 2:30 a.m. Omar, the owner, had no problem with that. After checking out, I realized I had left my power bank in the hotel, but I was already at another hotel. Omar went out of his way to bring me the power bank - so kind of him. Excellent accommodation!
The room was very spacious and had two double beds in it as well as a ventilator. The owner is really nice and can provide you with a lot of information about activities not just for Kizimkazi but for stone town as well. The breakfast was exquisite with a fruit platter and lots of different food for you to try
Everything was just too splendid. From the welcome, golf cart ride to the rooms, the food was beyond amazing, and the view was to die for. Housekeeping and their creative towel art everytime after cleaning.Very quite and classy hotel. I'll definitely be booking this place again soon. PERFECT FOR HONEYMOONERS.
Very well-designed Hotel with Amazing staff who care about their guests. All facilities are brand new and clean including Gym, spa & swimming pool. Great Dining options as well!
Special thanks to Mahmoud, Rajab, Suzy, Sara and chef Sabrina for the worm hospitality.
We had an absolute fantastic stay at Kizikula.
The hotel is very special with only 9 rooms. The hotel is looking after sustainability which we likes a lot. The staff is amazing… so nice, helpful and funny. The food was super great!!!
Beach was nice to explore with kids. There's lot of crabs and other stuff , especially in the evening. So torch and surf shoes is highly recommended. During high tide you can swim. Nice view and garden.
from the service to the food to the location everything was complete perfection! I highly recommend anyone visit in Zanzibar to check out the residence! You will not be disappointed!!!!
if you r looking for special simple place, very close to the beach and the fisherman village - this is your place! nice jungle beside the rooms and comfortable rooms.
