The house was very clean, and linens were soft and in excellent condition (comforters were not worn or "pilled"). The location was excellent -- beautiful view, sweet small yard and privacy around the house. Parking important, pull up right next to the house. Separate laundry room / utility area was wonderful (many houses have washer appliance located in the kitchen, which is a huge headache -- especially for families with children! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage!!

The house exceeded our expectations. Spotless, well appointed, all needs considered. It’s a great house for people with mobility needs with open floor plan and wet room showers. Very comfortable living room with lazy boys for everyone. Great location when driving. Short walk to a beautiful swim spot. The host Aileen was very responsive and communication was easy. I highly recommend this house for anyone staying in this area. I’ll be back.

The accommodation was very private, spacious and quiet. Biscuits, tea, coffee, milk and cereal were provided and very much appreciated. The incoming storm created a power outage on the island and my host was superb and attentive to my needs!! She brought me coffee, torches, hot water, a hot water bottle and a warm breakfast.. I was treated like family.. and always with a smile and warm conversation.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful location - fantastic views of the sea and mountains. Cottage very clean and well appointed - everything we could have needed was there. Kate was friendly and welcoming, available if needed. No problems with communication about getting into the property, even though we arrived a bit late in the day.

This accommodation was absolutely superb, we didn't want for nothing, the facilities offered were outstanding. Enda the host really made sure everything was up to scratch and was most helpful. What a lovely surprise also when we returned from a day out to find a tray of fresh scones, butter, jam and cream. So a really comfortable house with amazing sea views and a nice pub/restaurant a 5 minute walk away and stunning surroundings. Would have no hesitation in returning.

Ger and Derarca have created something really special here, allowing people to experience a step back in time on the edge of Ireland. Staying in a 200-year old cottage is, of course, not going to be the same as a modern holiday home...the house has its quirks and that's part of the charm! Bring plenty of fuel for the stove, get cosy and enjoy this very special place.

Very interesting, and quirky. Something out of the norm which I really enjoyed. The self catering cottage was wonderful, the shower and toilet facilities basic but worked very well with the whole concept of camping out.

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all with quiet and solitude, this is it. No better way to unwind after a long countryside stroll than to sit by the fire and read a good book! Also, the landlords are awesome. They stopped by to check in on me and even gave me lots of their homegrown tomatoes. Thank you so much! I‘m looking forward to coming back soon.

We had lots of cows passing by and checking us thru window,its was very funny. In the cottage there is big kitchen with big living room and there is two stoves to light a fire what we did and it was very nice by the fire. I would definitely recommended cottage and will rent again if we go back to Valentia Island.
