Been here for my third time and this place is absolutely amazing in every regard. What is most impressive is how kind, attentive and sweet they are. The food is also amazing from breakfast buffet to dinner everything is so delicious. We had a special dinner in the greenhouse and the 8-course menu was top notch. Quinta das Susandas is an amazing and recently renovated property in a beautiful and peaceful land, ideal for taking some break and rest from the city life. The rooms are spacious and have all the comforts you need. The staff is polite and gentle, always available and willing to make your stay enjoyable. We were welcomed by Marcelo - who is managing the family-owned property - in a very pleasant tour of the property, which included a taste of their own produced Porto wine (also available in the bedroom) and some tips on what to visit/do around. The property is located in a strategic position to explore the Douro region. The only regret is we stayed only one night.

Owners were flexible regarding the check-in time and allowed us to access the property early. Location is good and, for 3 people, it came out at 40 euros per person, per night, which was not bad.

The wine making tradition is very present in the first floor of the house, making it rough but comfortable to be in. A lot of tiny little details made the overall experience really pleasant. The second floor (bedrooms and living room) are also super comfortable, specially with the fireplace warm in a cold night. The views and the surroundings are also pleasant. The host, mr. Fortunato was very kind and careful even remotely.
