Overlooking Oxtongue Lake, this cottage resort is 10 km from Algonquin Park. It offers on-site access to a sandy beach and a fully equipped kitchen in each cosy cottage. The cottages are adorable. I was in a one bedroom. It has a fully functioning kitchen (bring all your groceries including butter, oil. And coffee grounds/pods. And a flat pan. Surprisingly no pan in the kitchen). It had really good heating. No AC but we didn't need it. No bugs inside. The veiw from the windows was a slice of heaven. BRILLIANT for kids. Two playgrounds, a library with toys, a lake opposite. Next to Algonquin so loads of fun trekking. We went when it was cold but they have paddle boats, and canoes and life vests. Honestly I am blown away by how entertained my 2 year old was in this resort.

A comfortable, clean and spacious "home from home" in a lovely neighbourhood. We enjoyed having the Bruce Trail Retreat as our base to explore the Niagra region. The location was good for the PEN centre and Brock University, both are about 20-30min walk, and was easy to take a day trip to Toronto from St Catherine's via buses. We hired a car too for exploring locally and had ample parking space on the driveway. I enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife in the garden a lot.

Well equipped, modern and comfy appartment with 2 bathrooms and plenty of space. Communication was smooth with the landlords. The kids really enjoyed the pool as it is big enough for them to swim!
