Located in the Gangwon Province, Heidi K. Haus offers accommodation with outdoor barbecue facilities, green lawns and children's playground. Free WiFi and free private parking are available on site. We stayed four nights, with day trips to the Gangchon Rail Park, Alpaca World, and Nami Island. This place was recommended by friends and I'm so glad we decided to stay here. John and his wife were really kind and took very good care of us. Rooms were clean and neat. Hot water flowed freely during bathtime and we drank cold water straight from the tap. For the most part, we felt like we were visiting grandparents who kept feeding us. We skipped the Vivaldi Ski Park only to discover Pallbong-san was closed for the winter, but John got us four gimbap, brought us to a nearby service road up a small peak, and sent us on a short hike (that incline!). We still got to muck around in the mud and leaves on the way up. Our sons (9 and 7) enjoyed the outdoors, helping John build campfires, playing with his wife's dog, and generally just running around the property screeching like banshees and dipping into John's store of firewood and kindling as he looked on indulgently (city kids don't get campfires much). The charcoal barbecue most reviews mention was a highlight, as was (for me anyway!!) cooking kimchi ramyeon with actual kimchi in a pot on a stove in a proper pension in the Korean countryside. I saved the receipt from our trip to the mart to buy ingredients too, it's going into my journal. Thank you John and Mrs Lee for your hospitality, we will not forget it. p/s For runners, there's a short out and back - just follow the pavement that starts at one of the roads in front of the property (the road after the tunnel, you'll see when you get there) to the end. A round trip took us about 40+ minutes? We called it 6plus-7km. A pleasant enough route.

Terrace on the Cloud is located in Daegwallyeong and offers self-catering units with a terrace and free WiFi. A continental breakfast is available each morning at the holiday home. The owner was super friendly and helpful. He provided everything that we have requested.

Set in Sokcho and only 2.1 km from Mulchi Beach, Casa Seorak Bed and Breakfast offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Mr. Juha is a great host. He welcomed us in good English and helped a lot in planning our hike in Seoraksan National Park. The breakfast is freshly prepared and brought to our room. We could choose from various options. We also appreciate his help in booking our taxi, but the casa is also very convenient to reach by public transport. Thank you Mr. Juha for our great stay, we highly appreciate your hospitality!

Situated in Pyeongchang, 46 km from Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza, Gilson Story Pension features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The host was so welcoming and helpful! We felt so at home here.

Featuring inner courtyard views and a garden, CHAEUL Pension is situated in the Bongpyeong-myeon district of Pyeongchang, 41 km from Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza and 2.4 km from Geumdang Valley. If you're looking for a pension within the mountains with a beautiful view as well as a very welcoming and accommodating host, I strongly recommend this place. The pension is directly facing Geumdang-Mountain and the valley, and the surroundings couldn't have been more pristine and peaceful. When I asked him for some recommendations regarding local taxi drivers through this app, he offered me to pick me up from Pyeongchang station without me asking for it. Right after pick-up, he gave me a tour of the area and also took me to a fantastic restaurant serving trout sashimi (송어회) when he found out that I hadn't eaten lunch yet. He also gave me a different room with a balcony without additional charges instead of the one I had booked when I told him that I came especially for the mountain view. Throughout my stay, he did his utmost to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. The room was clean, comfortable, and very spacious for a single person. If you travel alone, I recommend you book the "Rose/Jangmi" room (장미) - because the view from the balcony was as great as promised. But next time, I will certainly come back with friends, as he offers plenty of more soacious options as well as to grill for your bbq if you bring your own meet. While you should bring your own food, you can also buy water, beer and makgeolli from him for reasonable prices.

Set 10 km from Lordhills Golf and Resort, Forest of Color Pension offers ski-to-door access, pool with a view and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. It’s a truly amazing place - very calm, between mountains and a river. The owners are fantastic - they care about everything and help with all queries. Everything was prepared beforehand for us. The apartment is very spacious, with lots of additional futons if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped. There are lots of useful utensils for babies/children. The heating worked very well. The owner speaks English and gives tips for surroundings. Our appartement had its own barbecue booth and the owner prepared charcoal so we had a wonderful dinner. There is an indoor playground, trampoline, two wooden swings, bikes and toys for children. I can imagine the place is also gorgeous during the summer time - with a swimming pool and a very nice outdoor. Definitely recommend this to anyone searching for little country side in Korea.

Set in Hoengsong, 12 km from Cheongwoo Golf Club and 16 km from Oxfield CC, Grace River House-Block B offers a garden and air conditioning. Perfect location with great vieuw on the river. Very comfortable house with large living and plenty balconies. The house was very clean and roomy. The host is very kind and does everything to make the stay easy and pleasurable.

Situated 2.6 km from Daejin Beach and 2 km from Donghae Central Market, Magenta in Donghae features air-conditioned accommodation with views of the sea and free WiFi. Firstly, I stayed in the Martin room and the ocean view was magnificent. It was on the third floor and really clean. I liked that there was a cafe on the first floor. I think it was an excellent business idea. They had my favorite coffee “cold brew”. ❤️
